Good Afternoon,

Is there any of my fellow North Carolinians looking to go to Bandon Dunes in 2022/23 possibly? I have never been but really want to go an experience it. However, I do not want to go by myself and I cannot seem to get my golf buddies to commit…Just curious

I’m pretty much in the same boat. Most of golf friends are young and poor.

A buddy of mine and I are aiming for June-September 2022 area. I plan to talk to the resort in the next couple of weeks on availability/lodging/cost/etc. We want 4 or 8 to keep groups and caddies consistent for everyone so no one’s stuck pushing a cart (unless you want to). But we are in the same boat, us 2 are really the only golf friends we can get to commit.

I am 37 and most of my golf friends are older or my age and have no interest in anything other than local muni lol…It is not cheap by no means but it is a bucket lister for me. I know I will not be able to walk 5 courses in consecutive days but for so long lol… I have lost some young friends the last year as well as seeing folks retire and pass within a few weeks. I do not want to wait until I am 60 to start living lol.

Hey everybody, I am trying to get more involved. I am a Michigan Native but have lived in the Pinehurst Area since 2018. I had a membership to Mid South last year, but let it go this year cause I have a deployment coming up and it was getting rough to get tee times on the weekends. I mostly play at long leaf now due to the practice facility and the cheap/availability of walking rates.

I have a pass at long leaf I have to use sometime before April 1, will def holler at you if we catch a day over 50 or so here soon. I’m over my 3 weeks of covid and dying to get back on the course.

You just missed out! We had 12 guys out there on Saturday. LL is the steal of the Pinehurst area. I’m sure we’ll have another get together eventually. Also get in touch with @rkris who is a member there and is out there all the time (whether playing, practicing, or working  )

Think I’m gonna end up staying and doing a whole w/e in southern pines/NC here at some point in march again. Figure catching a couple days over 50 in march won’t be too hard huh?

Hit or miss. Could be snowing or could be 70 (could happen day-day even). Hard to tell ahead of time, but typically yes March is pretty solid.

Anything over 45 I’m down to play golf, fortunately I only live 3 hours north of southern pines so I dont need as much time to plan

Yeah as I said, Im a Michigan Native. Rain or Shine here is pretty much a warm winter day in Michigan. I walked Pine Needles on 23 DEC or so and it was sleeting/ raining for most of the round. Got some chili on the turn and was good to go. Let me know if you make it. I will be around all of March and April.

Def will be making it down and will let you know fore sure. @fore20 and I were discussing this earlier today.

I grew up in South Bend IN, and while I don’t miss snow, I certainly am bred for colder weather than NC.

As someone who was born in Mishawaka IN, and now lives in NC I’d say the winter here won’t bother you one bit.

Just got back from out there; kids and I did a little after school putting before getting blown off the green.

@e.cadwell57: for sure let’s play sometime. You should look into a membership if you’re walking there regularly, the individual military membership is $150 a month.

Absolutely. I was actually out there tonight too. Wind was bad. There was some left over balls so I couldn’t let them goto waste. Fingers were numb.

This year won’t work for a membership. Probably will go with LL in 22.

@rkris do you know if there is an initiation fee at LL? I saw the distance membership is $155 a month. I am just barely outside the 50 miles. It won’t be this year but I will be considering a membership somewhere in the near future.

How late in march? I will be on the island until march 15th.

There is no initiation fee, there has never been an assessment, there are no F&B minimums. It’s a semi-private, so they get that money from public play and USKG stuff.
