What did you think of the courses?

We did a golf trip to AKL in November and played Muriwai, Howick, and Titirangi. Really enjoyed all 3 and would play again. Extremely hungover for Titirangi so playing again this weekend and hope to swing a club without feeling nauseous

Didn’t end up going after my wife had a nasty injury the week before. The same trip is on the cards first few months of 2021!

First post here. Took the plunge and became a member of the nest and therefore an account for the refuge. Good to support the lads, such great content. Content is good to consume on my daily commute.

On the quest to play all courses in the country - at 110 so far. Would be good to meet up with people from around the country.

Member at Warkworth and Hamilton. Many of us from NZ on here?

I saw earlier today New Zealand had a 7.3 earthquake, then a 7.4 earthquake. When I was reading, they were arguing about whether it was a pre-shock or an aftershock.

My daughter just walked in and told me there was a new 8.1 earthquake.

Tsunami warning, government telling the residents to head for higher ground.

CNN is interviewing Anthony Fauci and FoxNews is talking about The Bachelor TV show. Any idea where to get more info other than twitter?

EVERYBODY HERE OKAY??

FOCUS BABY WE OK

got woken up by the first quake, half 2 in the morning, didn’t notice the second and third ones though they were a couple of thousand kms from where I live.
Fucking ring of fire, man.

How’s Amelia Garvey in the USWO preview pod saying the food in NZ is not so good?!

WTF, Amelia Garvey. The food in NZ is PURE. I’m not even a Kiwi, but I’m offended on behalf of my brothers and sisters across the ditch.

Your meat is as good as it gets, green-lip mussels capital of the world, dairy products… I want to know what sort of bad childhood Amelia Garvey endured to be throwing out takes like that.

Haha, this caught my ear as well… tbf, her family is from the UK so they may have fairly boring palettes

She was an absolute shot of life on the Pod though. Had never heard of her before, but following her on Instagram now as she seems absolutely an easy-to-root-for star of the future.

Agree. Loved her energy and nice to hear our accent too. Hopefully she can jag second behind Hannah Green or Minjee Lee this week.

Hey man - short notice I know but will be in the area over the weekend and wondered if you were free for a round? Was thinking of playing maraenui as will be staying literally next door.

Yo. Possibly Sunday morning? I got club footy sat so mignt be a bit beat up though!

Sounds good…this is a rare weekend away from club footy for me, so I feel you!

Fellow kiwis, I’m looking for course recs in the Tauranga/Mt Maunganui area - will be up for Labour Weekend and hoping to play 2-3 rounds. Current short list is Mt Maunganui, Omokoroa, Tauranga GC, Te Puke…anything else to consider?

Greetings friends… hoping to get thoughts on the month (and even weeks) you all would recommend a solo artist to look at in the coming Winter months in North America. I live in Petaluma, California… and to be fair the weather here is amazing… but I am looking for that life changing experience and I kind of need it sooner than later. Feeling like Scotland in the Winter might be a pass…

So, thoughts on what you all see coming up down there for weather trends and the like. Appreciate anytime you are willing to give good ladies and gentleman.

Cheers,

John

Hey John
We’re a long skinny country so the weather can be wildly variable, even in summer. Generally speaking, the further north you are, the warmer, wetter and more humid it will be; south will be cooler and drier, except central Otago, which will be very warm, dry and possibly windy.
Feel free to flick me a DM with any questions you have.

Early stages of planning a golf trip to New Zealand at the end of March and have a couple of quick questions. Any reviews of Tieke golf? Looks very compelling and will likely fit into schedule.

A tentative plan is to play Titirangi and Muriwai to work off the jetlag. Going to make the long journey up to Kauri Cliffs and maybe check out Te Arai. Then work all the way back down to Royal Wellington with stops at Kinloch, Wairake, Cape Kid and Paraparaumu Beach.

Any tips or advice much appreciated. Cheers

Old mate who posted above you (@sliceroulette) will take care of you here.

Only help I can provide is I played Titirangi in 2020 and my expectations were too high, so just go in with an open mind. It’s not going to be anything like Pasa or U of M. The staff was very friendly and there are some fun holes no doubt. Conditions were fine.

Good solid roadie!

Not got to play Tieke yet - maybe next year. But yeah it looks good. More than happy to help if you have any specific questions, pop me a DM. You’re playing a good variety of courses as well and there’s a few others I could recommend depending on time/route/levels of enthusiasm haha.
