Roll Call: Nashville (Spring Match Play Post 1319)

Another place I forgot to mention is the par 3 course at Vanderbilt legends, super cheap and greens are very good. Love going out there in the evenings

I am getting out of work early today to walk 9 at two rivers if anyone is off work/working from home. It’s me and a buddy.

Was it a ghost town when you played? Any issues getting on with the course closed?

There were actually a few people out there. Busier than I expected for sure. Definitely a relaxed vibe for sure. A guy joked with me in the parking lot about which tee time I had. Walked the front nine and it felt soooo good to get out.

Course is in great shape. Greens are already starting to slow down but they still roll good. Get the speed down and they are fun. The fairways are fine because the Bermuda grass is still dormant.

Several cop cars were in and out of the wave pool parking lot across the street and they never thought about coming in two rivers even with all the people on the course.

I called Ted Rhodes after hearing the COVID voicemail at two rivers. A woman answered and said you can walk any metro course for free right now.

I walked onto Richland today and there was no one there which was great:

Also, I found close to 40 mint pro V1s and TP5xs so I don’t need to buy golf balls for a while.

So is every private course open for walking too? I’d be down to do that tomorrow while we can

I would imagine it is not “allowed” to walk private courses. I was on high alert the whole time and skipped the holes around the clubhouse. I knew I was not supposed to be out there. Yesterday I played Hermitage and they were very much open for business. The course was still in good shape despite all the rain. Had a great time and was very grateful to get to play. Worried about a real lockdown coming this week.

I will be carrying groceries in my car as an act while I drive to the public courses to walk if we go on full shutdown mode. My folks live across the street from Richland. I am pretty surprised no one saw you and got mad…

I think Richland was completely shut down from Friday thru today for deep cleaning so there might not have even been skeleton staffing there the past few days.

Well, at least you are allowed to walk out on the course, can’t tell if there are still actual holes in the green or not…:

Time to finally make it out to Two Rivers this year now that the rains have subsided.

Headed to Two Rivers around 3pm with a buddy. To nice outside to not get some golf in. Wife approved and everything…

Is this pertaining to Metro courses? \

I hope they send a mow crew out soon…

Yes, that screenshot came straight off the metro golf courses website, see below:

I am assuming since they are sending that out they are still planning on opening back up on the original date they set.

I played Ted Rhodes yesterday afternoon! Very, very soggy from all the rain, but hopefully it will dry out with the warm sunny weather today. There are no flags or tee markers set up, but all of the holes are cut in the middle of the greens.

@VandyLand you are braver than me to play the private courses! Haha

Were there a lot of other players out there? I can see an issue if we start getting tons of people out on the course all at the same time.

Braver? Definitely not. I think it is blind stupidity more than anything. I have wanted to play out there so long I was willing to take the chance.

There were a decent amount of groups when I played on Sunday, but not nearly as crowded as a typical weekend on one of the Metro courses.

When I played yesterday evening, the course was basically empty. My wife and I played the back nine and were literally the only ones on that side of Clarksville Pike (granted, most of the fairways over there were super wet and borderline unplayable, but hopefully that will improve).

Nice weather this weekend could lead to more crowds…

I’m walking Two Rivers tomorrow at 9am with a co-worker. If anyone wants to come along let me know or come find me…I’ll be the lefty dripping in woke golf gear.
