Got out and played River Oaks Muni in Cottage Grove yesterday for a nice Twilight round. Had fond memories playing there for High School sections junior and senior year, and a personal low 18-hole meet score. Not as fond of a round yesterday getting absolutely punished by trees every which way. Ended up shooting my highest 18-hole score that I can remember in the last few years…
This didn’t go as planned. Congrats on moving on @dan32
I’ll let them provide a detailed recap if they like, but was witness to a great first round match where @LernhardBanger defeated @JoeyT in OT
It was a total pleasure to join @JoeyT, @kirkeide1 and yourself. WBYC is a treat. I was able to overcome some squirrelly iron play and ride my copious bumps and steady short game to keep the match alive longer than I anticipated. Some of my best swings of the day led to pars on 18 and 1 and that was enough to squeak by.
Do you think the MN refuge can aggregate enough cash to buy some sort of ownership stake in the Twins?? or at the very least, pool enough to get us a serviceable reliever/closer??
I think we are solid in the bullpen now with La Tortuga taking the reins throwing 46 mph.
T.K.O. would expect nothing less from it’s one of its own. Congrats @LernhardBanger! and godspeed @redcedar14 today at CTC.
Congrats to @LernhardBanger. Had a ton of fun out there yesterday. Your laser from 170, uphill, partially blind to 10 feet on the extra hole is going to haunt my dreams!
Had an extremely pleasurable walk with @tmoney7 out at Chaska - great company, course was in solid shape, and the weather was glorious.
While we walked to 9 tee all square, I finally got into that elusive groove with the big stick and ended up winning 5&3. The T.K.O organization gets another into the Round of 32.
Had a great time playing with @Seanzie on Friday afternoon at StoneRidge. While the match didn’t go his way, Sean finished the round out strong, hitting it to 6 feet or so from 202 out into the wind on the par-3 16th and rolling in the birdie putt. And man, is he long. Hit the best drive I’ve ever seen on the 18th, leaving himself only 100 yds in on the tough finishing hole.
TWO WEEK WARNING TO COMPLETE THOSE FIRST ROUND MATCHES
I believe this is the most up to date bracket, but please let me know if a match has been completed and I forgot to capture the results
I booked a foursome at Braemar next Sunday at 12:20. @DuckDuckGreyDuckHook denied my invitation so three spots available to any MN refugees who want to join.
Got our match wrapped up with @C_MackDaddy today. He took me down 2&1 at Highland this afternoon. He bombs it! Congrats to him! Was a fun round and he finished me off on 17 with a 35’ bomb for birdie. Really good golfer, better person. Was fun to take a stroll with another Refugee!
I booked [misleadingly named] Edinburgh USA for @TheRightSide and my match for Friday the 23rd at 8:50a if any guis want to join us?
Had a great time playing against @mplsgolfer today at Baker. It went back and forth and at the end he took it.
@JMK Great match and great company! Happy to have made another golf-crazy friend to get together with in the future.
Lovely morning at Stoneridge with several refugees, shoutout @freesypop and @charvey for organizing the tee times. In our first round matchup @DoubleT192 dispatched me 2&1 after absolutely grooving it on the back nine. But truly the final score was fun to fun, we were all winners in my book.
cc @BaxterMSP for bracket update
Great time at Baker today, the course is in great shape.
Had a good pillow fight match with @Sweethebs, no one was more than 2-up the entire day and it was AS on 16 tee. I hung on at the end with a 1-up win but more importantly we had a very pleasant Sunday morning out there.
@FairwayHank and I played a fun match at Southern Hills yesterday afternoon. I was able to pull out at 5&3 victory.
