9 holes taking 3 hours?!

Paging Tom and Poops… They could vouch for me. It was outrageous
Same here @kirkeide1 , send me your Venmo if I owe you anything
Any MN Refugees want to play next Friday the 3rd (first thing in the morning)?
I will be at the tail end of big golf road trip and am looking to play around MSP before I continue on to Bismarck for the 4th.
Want to be on the road by Noon so looking to play in the 7-8AM range.
Troy Burne has been on my to-play list and I did grab a 4-some at 7:50 to hold. If there was anyone interested in playing there that would be cool.
I’d also be down to play a cheaper course if there was more interest in that!
I might be in for that, sounds fun! I’ll let you know early next week.
I could play Friday the 3rd at Troy Burne and can get you the member guest rate.

Well folks, the ride’s over for me. @QGorski and I had a thrilling pillowfight at StoneRidge today that saw him prevail 3&1. Highlights include:
I finally made a comfy Hogan par net birdie on hole 10 after going double-double-triple-triple on 5-8. Quinn answered by holing out a chip from the front of the green to halve.
I won hole 11 with a 2-putt 8. Not sure what else needs to be said about that one.
I had the bona fide chipping yips and we waited on just about every single shot on the back nine, both super fun.
I had two putts to win 15 and go 2 up with 3 to play, ended up 4-putting and then made a right nasty mess of the following hole to end up Dormie 2.
Despite the heat and slow play we all had a great time. Quinn is a super good gui, we both played mostly like ass but he had enough to take it home. Gui hits the ball a MILE off the tee, too (and walked in this heat, possibly not human). Can’t wait to play again!
“Mostly like ass” is probably a charitable description for how we played… but nonetheless a great day with a great group on a great course. Stoneridge is so awesome - despite the fact that it thoroughly got the best of all of us.
Looking forward to the final 4!
I think a lot needs to be said about this one… that is a really hard hole though
Heh, I really didn’t want to explain it all but buckle up. We both hit nice drives to the right side of fairway, Quinn about 30 yds ahead of me. We both hit nice second shots over the big bunker to end up short right. He was in the fairway looking at a dead center pin behind the DAF bunker in front. I had just barely cleared the fairway bunker and had a pretty shitty lie between two sprouts of fescue. So we’re both lying 2 inside about 80 yards.
Basically all hell broke loose at this point. I took about a 3/4 52 deg thinking I’d keep it low and use the hill behind the green. It absolutely launched clean over the green, into the big birch tree, and fell just shy of the 12 tee box. Quinn chunked his into the DAF bunker, then thinned one clean over onto the hill near mine. He then hits a too-floppy flop about half way down the hill, then a decent little flip for his sixth onto the green that just kept rolling past the pin, all the way back into the DAF bunker. I caught my fourth heavy, landed on the green and rolled about 30 feet off the front. I then duff a chip to the fringe that rolls back about 10 feet. Done with wedge, I putt up the false front to about 8 feet for my sixth. Quinn hits an absolutely majestic wedge out of the bunker to about 2 feet for his 8. I miss just right and tap in for my 8, but I’m stroking because I’m a high handicap scumbag. Hope I painted a pretty picture for you
Thank you for sharing, sorry for bringing up bad memories. Just wondering what I need to be looking forward to when I play there on Tuesday. Excited to get ejected.
It’s a really cool course man. You will get ejected at least a couple times
Is this 11 we’re talking about, the par 5 with the barn?
I’ve had more than one adventure on that hole. Including the time I burned the edge and ran a put 3 feet past the hole straight up the hill, only for it to turn around and roll straight back into the cup.
I thought I had successfully repressed the memory of this stupid hole but here you come DRAGGING it back up with that perfect description of the carnage
It was 11, my mistake
We’re down to the last match of the EMB8. @bobs219 and @kirkeide1 have T-minus two weeks to complete their match!
Which courses did you play? Recognize a couple pics are from Giants Ridge. It’s been a few years since I made that trip. Need to do it again.
