Roll Call: Minnesota Part 2 - SIM MEETUP post 9471

Dahlgreen has some of the most underrated greens in the Twin Cities. And Timber Creek for the price is good value, but rounds can get long and condition is “you get what you pay for”.

Appreciate you reaching across the aisle.:handshake:

Great question:

There may be a team shuffle required. Now that I no longer feeling like a dead raccoon on the side of the road (I now just feel like a raccoon vs feeling human) I need to get in touch with Element to find out if we can do alt shot righty/lefty teams.

Also, I’m moving down to the Mounds View/New Brighton area soon and would like some recommendations for an uber cheap public membership for the summer. Par 3 courses included.

My hood. There is nothing good over here except Keller, and that’s so cheap that it’s honestly hard to make your money back on the player card. Island Lake is a trash-ass par 3 (technically par 28, 9 is a short par 4). Victory Links is fun but expensive and perpetually overbooked, and I’ve never looked into whether they have a player card of any kind

Technically I could use the student rate at les bolstad for this year but I’m not overly thrilled about that either. Coming off the $250 all inclusive membership at purple hawk is going to be a tough scene.

Does Gem Lake Hills have any sort of card? As basic as it gets but fun!

It’s pretty good, tbh. Play it once every year for a fun work event.

Never played it but I have heard nothing but great things surrounding the Orono Public Golf Course

I always forget Gem Lake exists because the city itself barely exists. S/o @TheRightSide - that’s where we first met @AndrewMoran and where he earned his now infamous nickname

Orono Golf is a personal favorite, a lot of it driven by my proximity to it. But what a great walk and tough track. The price is right, the people are nice, and there’s beer in the clubhouse cooler.

If they have Kapalua on the sim we’re playing it

Victory does have some sort of membership/player card. I used to play in league there with a guy who had one, it was on the expensive side for public if I recall.

Going to be shameless here, so apologies, if anyone is moving and buying/selling let me know. Use me as your realtor and there might some WBYC rounds in your closing gift basket.

You won’t regret spending your summer walking the rolling hills of Les Bolstad, my gui. The conditions are not what you’d call mint but the bones of that place are awesome and the vibes are off the charts in golden hour.

I second this, and believe the same could be said for its neighbor Gross National. I believe there is a Minneapolis Parks card of some kind?

It takes a lot of courage to openly ride for Les Bolstad among this crew.

(It stinks, btw)

I have not played, and hear lots of mixed reviews. Please sherpa me around the Hills of Les. I’ll extend a courtesy to @bobs219 as well.

@bobs219 @kirkeide1 and one other lucky refugee: let’s go play Les Bolstad. I’m all about it.

Bolstad is a great “what if” project. Great bones but it’s current iteration stinks… Mendota Par 3 > Les Bolstad
