Holy cow, this is an amazing deal. A family friend is a member there, I had my most fiery Icarito moment of my golfing life there: 37 on the front with two birdies, 48 on the back with only two pars.

If staying near Pasadena, Santa Anita is worth playing. The land movement in the fairways there is wild and makes the course.

Anyone at Annandale? Played college golf at that course. Really liked it.
Angeles National is pretty close to Pasadena but can be a little pricey. Pride themselves as the “only Nicklaus design in LA County” but I haven’t played it to know if it’s actually any good.
I’ll second Rio Hondo. Decent little track for a good price. It was in good shape last time I played it a couple months ago.

Still a course I like pretty well. A couple awkward holes, but for the most part I liked it. Par 3s on the back are strong, especially the short one with the long and narrow green, and there’s a cool par 5 with a green that’s blind if you’re going for it in 2, but you can see it if you lay up and play out to the side.

Wish I had seen this last night…
Played there once over a year ago. I enjoyed it overall, but it was and still is waaaaay overpriced. I played on a Saturday afternoon for their twilight rate of $95 and the place was empty.
Agree, no point in playing Angeles National unless you get a great deal somehow.
