Roll Call: L.A. County (Rustic Canyon and the Coachella Valley are not in L.A. County)

No deadline for joining, there’s a chance you could get a reduced rate for switching over your membership if you belong to another club through SCGA.

will the public courses stay open in this crisis? some of the private clubs have shuttered their clubhouses and golf services, essentially leaving the course open to bag carrying walkers only.

Still going? Time?

Some will. City courses will close if they haven’t already.

I think we’re too late, had to sign up by last Friday. @NineTo5Golf you think it’s still happening?

My club is shutting down completely tomorrow. The board is going to meet (hopefully by phone), to decide what to do going forward.

yeah the tourney director sent out an email asking if we still wanted to play and 19 out of the 20 peeps said yes. I’ll email him right now and see if he can fit you two in, I’m sure it won’t be a problem at all. Once I hear back from him, I’ll let you both know. Tee times start at 8am, still not sure if it’s a shotgun start or not.

they aren’t even keeping the course open for walking only? and still expect to collect dues? boy that’ll go over well…

Just closed today. Opening back up tomorrow, golf only.

Course now closed totally, and at the same time asking people to consider paying 6 months or a year in advance to “help us get through these difficult times.”

GTFO. I’m much more likely to cancel my membership in the next few days.

Has anything opened back up in LA / Ventura county? I saw some courses around Sac have reopened? Getting the itch to play…

Closest thing to Ventura county I’ve seen open is up in Lompoc. La Purisima and the public course at the Mission Club

It’s not about “opening back up” in Sac. It’s just that they never shut down. I expect that to change this week.

Apparently Ventura County re-opened all their courses this weekend - Rustic is open as well.

Rustic was slammed today for good reason. Nice to see people back on the course.

so happy…playing on Sat

Someone in Woodland Hills is unloading a lot of nice stuff on Craigslist right now.

That just reminded me that I have a set of the old McG VIP combo is my garage…I just can’t say buy to them

I hope you’ll permit this intrusion from a northern neighbor. Congratulations to those not in LA county who have open golf courses.

Up in the bay area, Santa Clara County issued a new shelter in place order that allows golf courses to open. It goes on to say, however, that since the state regulations prohibit golf courses from opening, that our golf courses cannot open until that state prohibition is lifted.

Is anyone aware of the rationale under which Ventura County or Riverside County (or any other county) have opened their golf courses, seemingly in violation of this statewide prohibition?

Just hopeful that something similar will happen in the bay area soon.
