It calmed down a bit by the time we teed off but there were still some gnarly gusts throughout the day. Glad you got a chance to play all those courses, such a solid grouping.
Playing Rustic on Monday with a couple buddies. 8:10am. One spot open if anyone is interested.
Flying in from Boston this Sunday the 23rd and playing Rustic at 1250. Anyone like to join me? Iām booked as a single but would love to add some Refugees.
Iām in for sure
Cool. Added you to the time.
Played Rustic yesterday at 8:10am. Took exactly five hours. Not a marshal in site. Itās a real shame what is going on out there. Such a great track but management obviously doesnāt give a shit about pace of play.
Whoever is running the show at Rustic should evaluate the operation big time. From a dollars-per-round geek, what they do there is so bad itās borderline offensive.
Big time. I canāt imagine Iāll return anytime soon. Iām sure Iām not alone in that thought so hopefully they will start to clue in eventually and fix the problem.
We had 30 people out for the NIT. Of those 30, maybe 12-15 had a drink before we went. CLEARLY there was a festive crowd on site. You may wonder, how many times in 4 hours did you see a beverage cart?
ZERO.
I HAVE to believe ownership has no idea what management is up to. Itās a disgrace.
Itās classic fast food service every time Iām there. Collect the water jugs while there are still a half dozen groups on the course; shut down the bar & grill before sunset, no bar cart, the whole nine. Classic āletās get the fuck out of hereā behavior with no regard to service or profit.
Who knows what the deal is. Itās gotten really shitty over the last 2-3 years.
You guys are getting me really excited for my round this weekend.
The course is still incredible. BYOB.
Noted. Does LAX have a duty free shop?
Just let me or @anon68983737 know what you want, I can make a BevMo run before I head up.
Iād suggest walking. It makes it somewhat more bearable.
If you do ride, bring something to pass the time. Cigars if you like em. Music. Itās going to be a loooong round. As long as you know that going in, youāll still enjoy it.
Thanks, I was planning on walking. May even take my new Jones bag I just got from the Silk Road.
Iāve played 5+ hour rounds at much worse courses, plus it snowed here today, so I will have zero complaints come Sunday.
Pretty sure the owner is the management company, though. Same management company that runs Soule Park (though Soule Park is owned by the city), but they actually own Rustic.
Doesnāt mean theyāre aware of how things are run on a day-to-day basis, but also canāt just shrug it off on a lousy management company.
I donāt mean ownership group vs. management company. I mean the person who pays the bills and cashes the checks vs. the person who opens and closes the shop.
