Roll Call: L.A. County (Rustic Canyon and the Coachella Valley are not in L.A. County)

(Raises hand…)

Maybe we just go to Skylinks? I can work from like 5-12 and tee it afterwards.

Let me jus say a few things on food because I’m triggered as fuq right now.

Uovo is like Chipotle. It’s nowhere near great Italian. It’s fast food. If you want GREAT Italian, obviously Giorgio’s is insane, but getting a table is even more insane. I like Cafe Delfini which is half the price and close.

@slasher is dead on. Cassia is my jam. Franco-Vietnamese. Tell whoever your server is you know Laz. May work in your favor, may be a loogie.

Also, try Tallula’s same owners as Cassia but it’s Mexican…Kind of. It’s great and it’s in the Santa Monica Canyon which is the best part of LA County.

Burger…Yeah, Rustic Canyon is really good. So is Ingo’s half a block away (but the bar at Ingo’s is much better.) Father’s Office also has a great burger.

The steak scene sucks in LA.

Being MLK day all rounds in LA might be slow so if you don’t want to take an uber 60 miles north for Rustic another great option is Rancho Park which is a great walk and overall just great Muni scene. If you don’t mind waiting on most shots Los Verdes is close as well and the back 9 has some sick ocean views. Either way enjoy the warm weather :fist:

Guelaguetza in Ktown is an absolutely awesome Mexican food experience.

My flight gets in from NYC at 11:50am (United from Newark). So earliest could tee off at Rustic Canyon is probably 1:30pm (defer to all you on traffic times)?

@Kelch if you really want to give me a ride, that’d be sick.

I’m staying in downtown LA…figured try to play Rustic while I can, right? Tee times online at RC look wide open 1:30pm and later. I’ve got nothing that night so I’ll play until the sun goes down.

Anybody ever played Recreation Park 18 in LB?

I believe they’ve erected a statue of @Lazstradamus there

Any of the Long Beach munis are fun.

Would’ve thought it would‘ve been at the Lakes at El Segundo

Grew up there, still play frequently. Good honest muni and, thankfully, wide open.

it’s almost like you knew what I needed to hear

Can’t imagine how that happened!

It’s a sentimental favorite. Let me know if you ever want to tee it up. Happy to sherpa, to the best of my limited abilities.

Have you made a tee time by chance?

A few things scare me here.

#1. You’re flying into LAX on the worst airline. If you’re checking clubs I don’t foresee you and Kelch leaving the airport before 1245/1pm.

#2. Sunset is 5:12pm…Maybe we could play until 5:30? 5:40?

Damn. Sorry about that on the United front–have to go with the corporate approved flights/carriers.

@Kelch I haven’t made a tee time yet, but checked today and Rustic still very open.

Should we hit up a closer course to cut down on travel time and have more golf time? Looks like Rancho Park and Skylinks both have afternoon tee times. Happy to make the tee time. 3 of us with @Lazstradamus joining?

@Kelch @Lazstradamus

Rancho Park, Skylinks, Rustic tee sheets for Monday

Booked a 1:36 tee time at Rancho for Monday. We’ll be chasin the sunset but might make it!

Welcome to the LA RACDG and Rancho Park Golf Course, @phillyferg. I can guarantee the following:

  • An employee of the course will offend you or challenge you physically. Do not back down.
  • The air you breath will smell like weed at least 3 times.
  • There will be 3 groups waiting on the 2nd tee.
  • The Armenian woman at the snack bar will call you “honey” in a way that will make you think she means it (she may be Romani, I don’t know…)

I don’t think she’s working weekdays anymore, or at least her weekdays are numbered. She told me she has “other opportunities” but will be there on weekends.

I mean…She drives a circa 2015 Mercedes 550 and works the snack bar at Rancho Park. “Other opportunities” indeed, my friend.
