If you’re gonna pay these prices for Italian, skip Mozza, and go to Da Michele or Jon & Vinny’s. Better food, better vibe, and they don’t have the stench of Mario Batali hanging like a rotten gas cloud in the air.

How could I forget J&Vs? They have a Brentwood location that’s bigger and easier to grab a res at than the original

Well yeah from a financial standpoint, I was speaking more to the menu and operation but I still agree with your other options. I have a soft spot for Pizzeria!
I was basically Norm from Cheers there from 2007-2009. I sat at the wine bar and ate dinner 2-3 nights a week, took all my dates there… But it’s dead to me now.

Pizza - 800 Degrees
Steakhouse - The Brentwood
Prime Rib/Experience - Lawry’s
Burger - Rustic Canyon (not the golf course)
Modern non-descript American - Upper West and Tar & Roses
Overpriced/Pretentious but still good - Baltaire
It’s definitely expensive but if someone told me they only had one meal in LA and asked where they should go, I would recommend Republique.

LA County Refugees – NY Refugee in LA for week of 1/20. Can likely squeeze in round on Monday afternoon. What’s an Uber like to Rustic Canyon from LAX? Anyone interested in joining? Looks like sunset is just after 5pm. Is that a hard out or able to play beyond? Or is there a course closer to downtown I should play? Trying to gauge latest time can tee off and get in 18. Monday is the day before my birthday and I live basically at LAX. I think we can make this work. And then you won’t have to pay for that Uber @TacoBucket mentioned.
