Roll Call: Kentucky

I’d be down for a meet up tho.

Relatively new to the boards here and while I live in MD, my folks still live in Lexington and I played Kearney when I was down there 2 weeks ago. The fairways are indeed in very rough shape (a #tuffscene) BUT there were only a couple of instances where it affected my lie. Overall my buddy and I found it to be playable, greens were still in pretty good shape, and they knocked a few bucks off the fee. Bottom line is the course conditions are not where they should be, and it definitely isn’t very picturesque at the moment, but it’s not a total disaster. All things being equal, I would recommend booking somewhere else, but it won’t be the end of the world if you end up at Kearney.

Hey Tommy,

I saw your post from a few months ago talking about how you live in Lex, play at Gibson bay and the Bull.

My friend and I are members out at the Bull. Let me know if you wanted to meet up and play!

We are recent college grads - so I think we are all in the same age ballpark.

Thanks!

In Louisville and would def be down for a meet up

Hey man, would love to play sometime, I moved here a couple years ago with my wife, so if I play with anyone it’s usually just as a single being matched with another group. I play twilight typically. You both have any days free you’re thinking about playing?

That’s how we usually play! We work 9-5 jobs, so we try to grab 9 holes after work once a week and we try to get a full 18 in on the weekends (if we can)!

What’s a good email for you? I’ll shoot you a message and we can link up soon.

Or if anyone in the Lex/Louisville area is looking for some people to golf with, shoot me an email at admin@bestgolfaccessories.net

Lexington here, i would also rec avoiding Kearny, greens are soooo slow and course in kinda rough shape, they did a total shutdown at the start of covid and didn’t punch the greens at all in spring/summer. I’ve always had solid times at The Bull/Boones Trace National , Gibson Bay is also solid with a fun lil Par 3 course on site as well. Havent played Cherry Blossom in a minute but remember it fondly. Keep me in the loop fellas would love to launch em with some like minded folks

Always looking for someone to play with! I’m in Louisville as well

Louisville here. Play mostly metro parks, and occasionally venture out to Shelby county

Me and buddy are meeting up in Louisville for 36 holes 10/24. We played Chariot last time we did this but any other suggestions? It will be tight with daylight but hoping it is so far west in the EST should give us time to get done.

Heritage Hill Shepherdsville. Covered Bridge and Champions Point in Floyd’s Knobs Indiana.

Bowling Green here played everywhere in BG except the private clubs. Paul Walker is the most convenient due to price and location but the 30 minute drive to Rolling Hills where I grew up is probably the best public option I’ve played. Also any BGCC or Indian Hills members looking to play hit me up.

You ever play at Kenny Perry’s place?

I never have. Meant to get out there this summer but never got around to it.

I could be talked into playing ULGC, even though I am a Cat fan

Louisville here, via East KY

I’ve mentioned on this thread before, but as end-of-year promotions continue to catch my eye, I am starting to seriously consider jumping on the C-Suite train and joining Audubon CC here in Louisville. Due to proximity, the benefit of being able to jump on and sneak in a few holes after work with low barriers of entry seem to outweigh the dues.

Are there any Refugees that are currently members? Taking a tour next week but would love to get some unbiased opinions on the golf membership. Also happy to help secure any referral benefits for fellow Refugees!

I am not a member but have played the course a handful of times. It is always in good shape and is a really good test of golf.

At the moment, it is out of my price range. If you can make it work financially I would jump at it. It is a great golf course.
