Roll Call: Kentucky

Always hitting up Paul Walker in bg and barren river!! $8 for 18 can’t beat it haha

It’s always in decent shape, if you’ve never played its worth playing just to say you have.

Welcome to the board Will! Good to have you! What part of KY are you from?

Relatively new to the refuge in Louisville…if anyone is ever itching to play Chariot, Nevel, Champions, Covered or Heritage there is a greater than 90% chance I’d be down

I’ll actually have a tee time there in the morning!

I’m actually from Portland, Tn but I’m like 2 miles from the state line! So most of my business is in KY I typically get along better with the people!

Would love a course report! If there’s anywhere in between Bowling Green and Nashville better, that’s where we’re coming up from on that morning of our trip and we’d love to play somewhere fun!

So for the same price in my honest opinion, Pine Creek in Mt. Juliet is sweet. But it’s hard to not steer you towards The Legacy in Springfield, it’s a Raymond Floyd design and it has to easily be in my top 3 for the area. I’d say go there.

After all day at Sweetens, my brother and I decided to take a breather day, we needed it! I’ve seen on here a few suggestions for Boone’s Trace near Richmond and after this morning, I can’t say enough about how awesome of a course it is. Greens were some of the best surfaces I’ve ever putted on which is insane for the time of the year, so many fun holes and ways you can play them. May be my new #1 option near Lexington!

Great track! Getting better and better under recently new management. Gibson Bay in Richmond is another great one. Place is pure right now as there was no play from March-May.

Hey all,

Looking for a short list of courses, if you’d be so kind

Here’s what I know:

  • Louisville area (eyes on a house in Prospect specifically)
  • Bachelor party (from scratch to bogey golf to happy to find the club face)
  • March 2021 (understand it will be early in the season)
  • $50-75pp price point (flexible if it is worth it)
  • Based on the wide ranging group, would prefer something that isn’t going to have guys losing two dozen balls but is still a challenge / fun for the others

Heritage Hill looks nice, does it fit above criteria for the most part? Nevel Meade appears to be closest, another good one?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

The two are very similar, almost sister courses in my opinion. Nevel has more holes adjacent to one another so it’s harder to lose balls. Nevel also does’t sell alcohol on site so you’re allowed to bring your own.

Nevel Meade seems to check most of your boxes and if staying in Prospect, I don’t think you can leave it off your list.

Chariot Run is another memorable track in the area but is on the other side of Louisville in Indiana, so its a little more of a drive. There is a casino about 10 minutes up the road, so could be a good add on for a bachelor party.

There are really good municipal options too. Seneca would be my vote for best Louisville muni, and would also put you very close to Bardstown Road for some post round brewery stops (Mile Wide or Gravely are your best bets!).

Thanks guys!

Nevel is perfect for what you’re wanting. Hit up Prospect Liquors & Wine before you go. Great selection of bourbon.

I see a lot of the other “Roll Call” threads have organized “meet-ups” and gotten together with other NLU junkies. Is there enough interest here in the KY thread to organize something like that. Could pick a somewhat centralized location … Kearney? Any suggestions?

I’m in Louisville but up for whatever. Where is everyone located?

Louisville as well. I can’t get a grasp on how many of us there are / where majority of us live. I’ve seen a few from louisville but also some NKY and Lex shoutouts.

I’m in Lex. A meet up would be fun. Unfortunately, Kearney’s in horrible shape right now due to incompetence. (And I’m not being picky, had a tournament there and on a dry day it was lift clean and place everywhere so you could find grass). Heard the pump that skimmed from the irrigation ponds broke and they didn’t realize it, the sprinklers were clogged, and it wasn’t getting any water. Sad, my favorite course.
