Love to hear it! Welcome! The High Cotton Club has an event at Kenny Perry’s on 2/22 if you want to join us and meet some of the crew!

Anybody on here think that the Kentucky State Park golf courses would make for a great strapped season? I am thinking mineral mounds, mammoth cave, dale hollow, greyson lake, and yatesville. How can we make this happen?

now Park Mammoth, I always figured a bourbon trail series would be more appealing to Strapped… finding the smaller distilleries and such. Heard nothing but good about the state park courses themselves, but always considered it to be too much driving for a trip of nothing but State Park courses

Audubon is steaming garbage. Specifically the 2nd hole.

I’ve played all but dale hollow and Park mammoth, which I am told are the best 2. Prices are right as well. Maybe a route of Lassing point, Pendleton county, park mammoth and Dale Hollow. Hit a distillery or 2. Big Randy can visit his parents. Sounds like a great season of Strapped to me

Just to be clear… Park Mammoth is privately owned now, not part of the State system. It is definitely worthy of being on video though, probably more than any other course I’ve ever played.

I’m starting to pick up what you’re putting down… Although it feels like a choice would need to be made between Lassing Pointe and Pendleton in the interest of getting down towards Louisville for a round to break up the drive with golf.
Absolutely love the idea of the boys finishing up at Dale Hollow and renting a singular jetski to ride around on with their excess budget

Maybe then, take the focus off state parks a little. I’d say lassing pointe, then hit one of the bourbon spots around frankfurt. Heritage Hill and then a night in Louisville. Park Mammoth then Mammoth Cave. Dale Hollow and a day on the lake. Great trip you could do on the cheap. I feel like Kentucky is an underrated state when it comes to affordable, good golf courses

Hey Fellas! Just moved to Northern Kentucky around Christmas and I’m looking for some guys to play with. I’m a +2 handicap, love competition, and just looking for guys who like to have a good time. I’m up in the Independence area so golf course recommendations are welcomed as well!

Welcome to the area! We sure do love competition in The High Cotton Club, and we have a small stable of plus handicaps, but our closest event to you is The Extinction at Park Mammoth in June.

I can send you a DM with a link to join our Discord and get involved down here, but in the sake of your best interest… OATW (Ohio Roost) is actually closer to you, and Crossroads Coop over in Indiana may have an event or two not far from you either.

Either way, I hope you’ll join us for our final NIT Qualifier at Park Mammoth in a few short months!

I shot you a DM.

Spots still available for The Barn Burner at Kenny Perry’s on 2/28 as well!

Hey everyone! Planning a bachelor party for a buddy here in a couple months in the Louisville area and was wondering if there was any recommendations for decent/fun par 3 or 9 hole course for us to play Sunday before the drive back to St Louis/Chicago?

Unfortunately, the city severely lacks this.

At least in the city, Cherokee is the answer to your question. In the heart of an Olmsted park, it could be really great…. If someone came in and completely redesigned it.

But as it is, it’s still little 9 holer in the middle of the city that you can hit golf shots on. Pair that with a brewery stop a couple minutes away, still makes for a good afternoon

(taps mic) first-time poster, am I doing this right?

I’m headed to the Lexington / Louisville area next week for work.

Shaking 9 handicap coming out of winter hibernation, looking for course recs and a potential game if schedules align.

Thanks,

Lex- I’d say Kearney Hills or the University Club (two courses there)

If you have a little bit more time, try to get out to Park Mammoth. Best course in the state.

Nevel Meade is also good on the North side of Louisville. Weissinger in Shelbyville (between Lex & Lou) is decent and right off I-64. Agree with @golfingossett Kearney and Park Mammoth are the best in the area.

Park Mammoth looks right up my alley. Appreciate the recs.
