Roll Call: Kentucky

The emails i received said the + tickets were the only option, agree it seems like overkill.

I was still planning to buy some until I saw the price! Maybe that’s the norm for majors, never been to one?

Giving them that much money a year in advance, uh no thanks. Betting they’ll be cheaper closer to event dates, we will see.

Griffin Gate is solid. #10 is fun with Newtown Pike then the water on the left.

Cherry Blossom another one to add to the list

A little out of town, but worth the drive: Gibson Bay, the Golf Club at Widows Watch, the University Club(2 courses), Peninsula Golf Resort, Boone’s Trace, Cherry Blossom.

You are just getting started. Welcome to a quietly good golf town. Hit me up if you are looking for a playing partner.

Kentucky! The High Cotton Club is back!

We’re kicking off the 2024 season with The Float at Dale Hollow. With lodging provided from Friday and Saturday, and the main event on Saturday, it’s sure to be a weekend you don’t want to miss.

After an optional round on Friday, tee times will begin at 8:00 Saturday for our blind draw two man scramble before we take to the lake in two pontoons. An optional round will also be available Sunday morning, and those who have been before can attest to the quality of fellowship that this extra time during overnight events can offer.

Entry fee for this event is $330, with lodging, boating, a bag tag, and Saturday’s golf (plus range balls) included. Also, drinks on the lake will be provided courtesy of New Belgium Brewing. Follow the link below to sign up, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns! Hope to see some new and familiar faces as we kick off the 2024 No Laying Up Roost season in the Bluegrass state.

Hey y’all, checking in to see if anyone wanted to get a twilight round in at Park Mammoth tomorrow. Driving back down to Atlanta from WI and wanted to get a round in. Let me know if anyone wants to join!

Be on the lookout in February for the Chili Open at Longview. Super affordable two day gross scramble event with some awesome prizes. Also stay and play options available, which is nice if you want to get after it on Saturday.

What’s up Kentucky crew. I’m headed to Louisville for work this fall and am doing some research on what courses in the area are top of the list from a public perspective. Been poking around on some of the local news papers for insights but figured I’d come directly to the source. Appreciate any and all feedback!

Took a trip there last year and played Chariot Run (Indiana), French Lick Donald Ross (75 minutes north in Indiana) and Cardinal Club (private, had an in, try your luck!). It was an awesome, awesome trip, outside of dropping $1000-$1200 at Caesar’s Indiana. Dad hit a slot for $5k though.

Heritage Hill, Nevel Meade, Oxmoor (semi private, but really nice), Covered Bridge are all within a short drive of Louisville and are very good options for public courses in Louisville.

Anyone here play in the HBF Tour? I’ve had some awful interactions, curious if someone can tell me it’s more than what I’ve seen.

Never played in it but it looks interesting. What types of issues have you encountered?

I’d rather not publicly defame anyone, but let’s just say the TC rule was clearly violated haha

The High Cotton Club is working to firmly plant a flag in the Bluegrass state. With the help of some natives, and a generational son returning [That’s right, I’m coming back baby! Looking at property every day.], I hope we can get Kentucky to the level that Alabama is at.

I have a firm belief in what we do and how we do it, because it’s all based on feedback from our membership with a pure mission of bringing like-minded folks together through low stakes but meaningful competition, and raising money for worthy causes at the same time.

Obviously The Extinction, our roost major and NIT qualifier, is at Park Mammoth, but we have other events in KY, including two more at PM, and opportunities to get involved outside of one/two day events.

If anyone is on the fence about joining the Roost or getting involved with something like this, please reach out and let me know what your concerns are and I’ll either address them or work quickly to rectify them. I’m saying all this because Kentucky is important to me, and I want it to be fairly represented. I look forward to moving back to the land of my ancestors where I spent so so much time growing up, and continuing the growth of HCC along the way.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk, didn’t expect all that to come out when I started typing

I just want to chime in and once again echo how great the HCC events are. I drive at least 2 hours for pretty much every HCC event I play in (I’ve gone up to 4 at this point) and have never regretted it. If y’all are looking for more golf, please look into some of these awesome events!

Tell ‘em about the community outside of our events @Douger23 :loudspeaker:

Like you said, you’re one of the most travelled players coming from Southern Indiana, but you’re still one of the most heavily involved members

You mean the one where we tailgate concerts together and go to sporting events/just meet up at the bar together?

That too, but I was moreso referring to Discord, jackpots, the Classic, merch, and more :joy:

That’s fair! Full disclaimer though with the community that you get lost in the sauce of it and have to mute the discord to keep focus at home and work. :joy:
