Roll Call: Kentucky

I’m a member of HCC and know the HCC team is full but let me know if something changes, I may be able to fill in.

Will do! We actually have an extra tee time full of HCC guys. If one of them can’t make it or gets pulled into the competition, I’ll let you know!

Hey Guys, was hoping for a few recommendations on the Louisville area. My family is headed down for a long weekend have tours set at Buffalo Trace & Woodford on Friday, and Makers on Saturday but was looking for any other family friendly points of interest/dinner spots? Any input is greatly appreciated.

The Louisville Slugger museum is a lot of fun.

Wallace Station in Midway is a great place for lunch when you go to Woodford on Friday. Coals in Louisville has good pizza. Drakes (multiple locations) has an eclectic menu of burgers and sushi. Agave and Rye has top shelf tacos.

For Family-Friendly activity a few good options are: 1) Louisville Mega Caverns, 2) Kentucky Science Center, 3) Top Golf, 4) Walking Bridge

In my opinion, some the best restaurants in town are: Jack Fry’s for a traditional, old school chop house, Sapporo has the best sushi in town with a great happy hour special, Hauck’s for hipster-neighborhood dive bar, Monnik for best brewery food, Varanese for classic “American”, Bar Vetti for modern Italian. Butchertown Bakery has phenomenal coffee/breakfast/lunch and baked goods.

Some of my wife and I’s favorite bars: Neat (bourbon cocktails and bottle shops), Darling’s (boutique gin cocktails), Atrium and Mile Wide (best breweries in town), Nachbar and The Pearl(great dive bars), and Taj for a late night semi-wild scene.

Already signed up for this one! Would absolutely love to get this thing going!!

Looking for a good recommendation for April 2nd in the Louisville (and Frankfort direction) area, as early as possible. Was going to play Nevel Meade but looks like their earliest tee time is 1020a, which doesn’t work for us since we are heading to Buffalo Trace for a tour around 2p.

Weissinger Hills is on the way, but I wouldn’t say that it’s a “good” recommendation.

GlenOaks Country Club would be similar to Nevel, the staff will treat you nice… the past couple years they’d give you a meal and a beer with your round.

It would be further, but Kearny Hills fuq’s, a fun Pete Dye… I’d probably go the literal extra mile and play there.

Would love to but we’re staying in Louisville the night before, so hoping to have somewhere in the area or on the way to Frankfort.

Glen Oaks definitely looks promising. Gonna give them a ring to see if I can get around their 5 day booking window.

Hello, checking in from Michigan and will be in Louisville next weekend. Any course suggestions, looking to get somewhere nice on Saturday while I’m there?

Nevel Meade or Chariot Run are the usual answers.

If you don’t mind about an hour fifteen minute drive go to Park Mammoth in Park City. You won’t regret it.

GlenOaks Country Club is also…. Fine. It’s not gonna “Wow” you, but a respectable course in its own right.

Played Heritage Hills today for the first time and loved it. Also definitely worth a shot.

Great pull as well!

Anyone buying tickets to the 2024 PGA this week? I am somewhat confused by the ticket options. It looks like the lowest priced option is Championship+ tickets, but they include complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and food. Do they not just sell general admission tickets to the PGA?

I believe they’ve changed it for next year. They have really cheap practice day tickets but I believe the Championship+ tickets are the only option for the actual rounds.

Hey everybody, just moved to Lexington. I have played Houston Oaks, Kearney Hills, Lakeside, and Longview. Are there any courses I need to hit up or any events coming up I need to know about?
