And FYI, the design/vibe Swope still blows everything else in KC out of the water if you were wondering.
good info re: swope, will have to stop by this week. thanks for passing along.
Unfortunately, there’s a big overlap between golf and people, I’ll say, that don’t acknowledge science, but follow their political affiliation with cultish fervor.
I wet a towel before I even leave the house, and if it dries out and the ball gets muddy…just switch out the ball. Or just play with a dirty ball, I mean who cares…we’re not actually recording scores now are we?
I know there are goups out at BH too, I just hope they’re taking proper precautions. I have declined all invitations to play with anyone for the time being. Hopefully, KS being out in front of this thing will help us get back to normal soon…though as usual…the idiots on the Missouri side are bringing us all down.
Not sure how this pertains to the fact that @Dyson just told us that Swope was doing well with all regulations. Don’t judge us by our worst examples.
i was planning on getting out there this weekend, but didn’t have a solid plan until saturday morning to try and play sunday. They were completely booked at that point. Looks like I’m going to have to get something done during the week to be able to play.
Exhibit A; https://www.kansascity.com/news/coronavirus/article241377326.html
keep in mind, my poking fun at missouri is mostly in jest as a household with multiple degrees from KU. there’s plenty of idiots in the KS congress as well, we are just lucky to have a democratic governer at the moment.
I must not have been the only one complaining. We just got an email with further clarification of rules regarding golf going forward in regard to social distancing.
Mentions flagstick touching, no more than 4 players per group, no gathering, no sales from the shop. Tee time required at 20 minute increment
Have seen better tweets today
That looks like one between 1 and 18.
How is everyone? I am going crazy. Out of beer, I think I have putted a track into my puttout mat, and home schooling is no joke. I really need to play golf and hang out with bunch of adults acting like kids.
Stay safe and hopefully this will all be over soon and we can get a meet up on the calendar.
It’s not easy, but relatively speaking I’ve got it easy.
As much as it kinda sucks to have joined a new club the first week of March, I’m very thankful to have somewhere to go play. My kids wear me out when my wife is at work, but they’re little so the homeschooling only takes an hour or so and I can do it over lunch.
We have a great house, kids that largely entertain themselves, basically stable jobs with mostly stable income.
The one thing that really sucks is having a wife in the medical field, her exposure is elevated and we’re basically staying away from each other. That’s…not great.
Well I mean homeschooling is a joke, but trying to work with a 5 year old in the same basement is really hard. I also have a course in my neighbor hood and it is basically the only thing that keep me going. Just hope I can score as well as I can with these pins when they go back to normal.
Life is pretty normal to be honest, just all inside our house. Thankful the weather has been decent and can use my net in backyard to hit balls. Playing on Sunday with neighbors, finally. Glad that courses remain open and usable.
I do somewhat vindictively love everybody that had the perception that people who WFH daily as goofing off all the time now getting a taste of what it’s REALLY like.
Guess who takes care of the kids every time they have teacher conferences, snow days, sick days, etc? WFH and goofing off may work for a day or two, but once you do it daily…you start to realize that you actually end up working all the time because there are no real office hours.
FACT! Just someone needs to tell my son to turn Trolls off because it’s getting stuck in my head. However Trolls, Baby Boss, Spirit, Magic School Bus, Clone Wars and everything else he watches is better than NBA Horse. I just hope everyone is being safe! Have a good day and I am sure I will post again, when I get board.
Work from home with kids is less work from home and more attempting to work from home while providing child care!
All semblance of limiting television/iPad time is out the window. Thank goodness for Disney+ and Netflix.
But all in all, agree that not easy, but relatively we have it easy.
That is tough @tnord, babies still have to be born right?!?!
Looking forward to getting together with everyone once we get through this thing.
Should we tentatively look at a re-sched date post 5/15?
hell, US Kids golf is still having their tournament at swope this weekend!
Wait. Really?
confirmed by a buddy that has a kid big into jr tournaments.
