I’ve only gotten to like five of these! But that’s never stopped voting in the democratic process before.
This. Is. Amazing.
This would probably be my last meal on death row. Jack Stack takes the top spot for me, in addition to the Mayor, they have the best sides in the business.
I still havent had Q39 yet, will be a top priority on my next visit.
Best sauce I ever had was from small shop way out south called Hillsdale Bank BBQ. I they closed down a few years ago when the owner died.
Top Choice: Oklahoma Joe’s, Shamrock Station Joint
Choice et Emeritus: Bryant’s, but with their spicy sauce
“I’m from KC and you fucking know it”: Rosedale
Cincinnati has a legit player in BBQ (Eli’s), would be middle of the road in KC but it’s fun to go to. A have a buddy here that makes a brisket that would murder people back home…so good and doesn’t need a drop of sauce.
Also fun fact: The Joe’s guys use to be my cousin’s neighbor back in the Slaughterhouse Five days, I had their ribs when the gas station just opened…didn’t know what I was eating then.
You’re hitting the big guns first!
Yeah saw it on the reddit KC page and was mesmeriiiiiiiiiiiized.
Happy to see McGonical’s market on the list.
Hah - holy cow. That’s not even my creation, but just realized the random redditor that created that sheet had a similar route to me.
woodyard has the best Brisket Chill
Sleeper - Burnt End Nachos at the Falloon
I feel like if we play a spring meetup right it could shape up something like this:
My personal fav is Joe’s. Jack Stack and Q39 are up there in the 2 and 3 spots.
Underrated is McGonigle’s and BB’s Lawnside
Joes - Ribs, Rocket Pig, Chicken Z-man or burnt ends
Jack Stack - mixed burnt ends, crown prime rib or pork chop
Q39 - Brisket & pulled pork
GTFOH with anything else
I might be able to make some time for that and get Big Randy and Neil to join us!
Quick, start naming accessible public courses to be had on a budget…
Seriously I can picture strapped at Hillcrest and Swope Memorial. Some great history at those courses, they just need some (a lot) of love!
Edit: As a bonus, @Randy can stroll UMKC’s campus, which is definitely a legit college campus…
Swope and Hillcrest for artistically reasons.
Iron Horse, Winterstone, Shoal and Creekmoor have good twilight rates
