not much glad to see a KC golfer I’ve actually met before on here, looking forward to hopefully playing again or grabbing drinks at a TRoost event soon! Hope you buddy didn’t get in the doghouse too bad for being late to that Realtor showing by 30 mins when he left you on 16 without the cart lol

Three man scramble. One guy showed up VERY worse for the wear after attending KU Dad’s Weekend (Note: he is not a KU Dad). The other guy left me – and our struggling team – stranded on 16.
Takeaway? I need new friends. Solution? Roost!

Love using “The Dust Bowl” as one event name or maybe a “Buffalo Stampede” event. Also like using something with either “The Flyover Roost” or “Buffalo” in the name of this Roost.
I am playing with a buddy at 12:10 at stone canyon (full with 2 strangers) but if we could lock down a 4th would be willing to move it or play Hillcrest (still on my bucket list for 2021)

@ActionThomson @scagnetti are you guys wanting to play tomorrow at Hillcrest? If so I can make the call, there seems to be some mid-11am times open where we could get in before sundown.

Yeah I’m not interested in paying $70 for Hillcrest, which is what it is. Minimum. Lemme know if you guys have plans for other places.

Decided to mess around with google maps features while double fisting black coffee and liquid IV after a late night bartending for myself.
the map should auto update as we add more and more people to the list, which is now up to FOURTY SIX. The map feature can’t deal with blank values, so I populated BCN information for anybody that didn’t provide home course info. There were also a couple people with multiple entries, which I edited to list only one. Feel free to update your course information as you like. I plan to use this information to work on scheduling and site planning for 2022.
Eventually I may ask you to add things like an email address for communication purposes, will start hiding columns for privacy, and restricting access to request only also now that I think we have the numbers.
Back on the name/logo front;
Another option is a Prairie/Grassland theme. Words and phrases like tallgrass, amber oceans, waves of grain, bluestem, fescue, sunflowers, prairie, etc come to mind. I like the idea of a golfer standing in knee high rough, with a one handed follow-through and a clod of turf stuck to the club head. Or if there’s just a way to turn an image into a silhouette something like this;
I surprisingly couldn’t find any images of somebody with a one handed follow through, and I have zero photo editing skills/software.

This logo has inspired me to learn some stuff in Gimp. So here’s a very low effort stab at this. Name is by no means something I recommend we go with. Just a placeholder for text.

A lovely, casual, comfortable afternoon with @PSchmitt9 @VinnyG @sundaybag at Swope. I like where we’re headed in 2022 and look forward to getting out and about in the KC golf scene. We’ve got some good ideas for Roost gatherings, and everybody should be excited and plan to get involved.
Was this the very first golf that came together as a result of the Roost? Gotta like that.
