John Brown has to be holding a driver.

If we could boldly outline him — and his beard — just black outline over white (or blue or whatever) holding the monster Fred Flintstone driver, that’d be sick.

No, I’m not up on my state capital murals at the moment. Like I said it is cool as hell and if y’all want to go with it, then I’m down. It seems the majority of the people are from Kansas anyway and not KCMO (which is fine). Just happy to be a part of it.

12/2 morning update.

  • We’ve picked up a couple more, and currently sit at 33 on the list, with 30 being Nest Members. This meets the 20 Nest Member minimum in the application. The “if I build it, they will come” claim from the application played out.

  • KC Roster is pretty strong compared to others in the region. We have a longer list than OK, STL, or CO. I believe our neighbors to the north in NE will join us, ultimately ending up around 40. For comparison, MN Roost has 49.

  • I think I have @'d everybody that’s been a regular in this thread. If I’m missing anybody tell me and I’ll update.

  • I added a column on the google sheet for home club and suggestions for charitable organization. Feel free to populate if you like, though this is getting a bit ahead of ourselves before official announcements (but I like our chances). Idea being that if there’s a group of people that play at the same place we may want to have an event there. Or maybe deliberately stay away for equity…who knows. Picking a charity and working on a schedule/season points feels like the next step.

I also want to keep this visible as the first unofficial congregation;

I’m against anything that can be considered divisive. For that reason, I’d say we nix the John Brown idea. The idea of that logo is a good one, just not for something meant to represent Kansas and Missouri.

Edit: Maybe not a candidate for a Roost logo but works for my profile pic.
