Fair, we will see what is what once it goes live. I don’t blame them they have people that they have to take care of.
I would definitely be in for something
is this a play in for KC vs StL or standalone?
I’m very much in!
Both.
so standalone and X finishers get right of first refusal to teabag StL?
I’d also be down for something. Not early June because that is member guest szn and I think my wife would crap a brick if I played golf 4 days one weekend then in another tournament the next weekend.
edit I think this thread needs to set up some kind of match play deal in the spring or summer when things are better. I have missed match play this year, because our mens league format went to medal play in order to allow players to complete their round in off peak times.
I’d be interested in season long match play too. selfishly, I was just trying to get something on the calendar early because my wife’s sched gets made 3-6 mos out.
At least for me, and I suspect other family folk, making it out for one event is easier than half a dozen matches. Calendar gets full quick with regular club tournaments, KGA, etc.
What about a monthly 9 holes on a Thursday night? Play a different course each month. “THURSDAY NIGHT LEAGUE”
Or tee off around 3 and get 18 in.
all for it, but I can’t do it. I can’t even play in my own club’s league b/c of scheduling conflicts, much less two leagues.
Former UMKC Roo golfer Antoine Rozner wins the 2020 Dubai Championship!!!
this is a good point. I’m not a big M/G guy, but understand that creates a problem for many. I always think the best way to do this stuff is solicit some input, set a date, and move on. So let’s see what everybody has to say before we may lost some people on 1/1/21.
- April
- May
- June
- July
- Aug
- Sep
- Oct
- Swope
- Blue Hills CC
- Don’t Care; set it up and I’m there
- Great Life Facility (auto-DQ from the event)
EDIT: I was cleaning some found balls out of my bag and realized I need to do something about the big box full of them in the basement. Perhaps we should look into aggregating equipment we can afford to part with and run a donation to the first tee or see what Harris Park needs between our morning round and visit to BCN.
All in for anything going to be honest. Have to break up the already impending shitty winter thats coming with restrictions. If its a nice day we should send em…
it’s a ways away, but like I said, I’m just trying to look forward to something. I talked to the GM and Head Pro; I can get us all on for $80/ea if that’s the direction we want to go. weekday, weekends, it’s all good. If on a weekend we’ll need to be a bit flexible on time.
if we end up with 16 or more we have to do a little more formal planning, but with 12 it’s all pretty flexible.
EDIT; looks like most people are jonesing to get going, same as me. however, significant risk during that timeframe of wet and dormant zoysia, especially in April.
@Rocco I thought you were the social chair of the KC Chapter, where you at?
Fun read about Swope that made me want to make a tee time this weekend.
Then I checked the weather and reconsidered.
Him describing the way he finished on 18 hit a little too close to home
I’ve only played IHCC once, but it must have been touched by several someones in the intervening years, cause it is by far the worst of the three CC plaza courses. KCCC is 1 by a mile but MHCC is also at least a length in front of IHCC. If I was gonna play one every day KCCC is the only one I’d really want to (but I also don’t wanna wear pants or wear thigh high socks)
the pants thing is the least of the “culture issues” at KCCC, but it is my favorite golf course in town also. second goes to milburn, third goes to swope.
I will say if BHCC follows through with the master plan in the next two years as intended, it will likely occupy one of the top 3.
I agree that K tripy is ahead by a good ways. I’m at IHCC and after years of neglect we are finally putting money into the course. Spending about $1.4 this winter and planning on another $5 over the next four years. Also cutting down about 150 trees which will help. CEGD here locally is overseeing it.
I am new to the refuge, which looks like really bad timing. Always happy to host though.
Where do Shadow and Hallbrook fall on your list ?
