They totally screwed up this last batch of renovations at TCI. I don’t know if people want to read all that so I won’t rant about it, but it’s bad decisions all over the place.
How is Amana looking nowadays? I haven’t played there in 25 years but remember enjoying it when I did.
You should see new 7, 8 and 9. 
It’s a fucking mess, excuse my language.
Depends on the day. Last I played it was this spring so it was pretty soggy in a lot of spots. I like it a lot when its dry.
The last couple times I’ve been there conditions have been really good. Greens are almost too fast at times and it still has the same narrow corridors it’s always had but overall I still enjoy it.
I’ll have to play there sometime soon
9 is absolutely terrible. Just stupid.
I moved from the area so haven’t played since the first summer they switched the 9s. What all has changed since then?
Move tee on 1 down to fairway to make it a par 4. (Fine)
Got rid of 7 green and made it a par 5 to 8 green. (Really bad).
New par 3 9th. Green is where old 1 tee was. (Boring).
Old halfway house is sitting there rotting now.
I will say clubhouse is nicer.
Lots of nice houses out there now in more areas.
I think a few smaller changes here and there. But its just a target course that Im not a big fan of.
interesting! I did play #1 as a Par 4 when I was last there, I didn’t mind that actually. I just looked up their course view on the website. 7 was always a fun little hole in my opinion. Would be interested to see it as a par 5 now. So, is #9 an uphill par 3 then? Where is the teebox for 9?
7 was my favorite hole, it had options.
Now you hit driver out right then have a very weird layup near the old green (which was roped off) and hope you miss the bunker or cartpath. Then could have a blocked out 3rd by trees. I dont completely hate the idea they just dont seem committed to it.
9 is a “flat” par 3. You drive up a hill to hit over valley. Its just meh.
Mike was so much faster than I was, doing the same thing.
The approach into new 7 stinks. They didn’t move any of the dirt of trees of that corner where you would turn up the hill to old 8 tee, so its tight and it just doesn’t look right. The angle into that green stinks too. They opened it way before they should have so the stuff they tore out hadn’t grown in really at all when I played it last fall.
9 is just a boring hole.
I have a friend who plays out there pretty regularly. He said after they flipped the nines the first time, they were having problems with people coming off 18 down the hill and just going on to 1 and keeping playing. If the pro shop didn’t pay attention to the gps sensors and the times the carts were out on the course, they just never caught them, because you couldn’t see down the hill to that hole.
After looking at my life, I’m gonna leave town later in the day and skip the round this coming Friday afternoon. I appreciate everyone who was interested in playing and hope we can tee it up sometime. If you’re ever coming to central Illinois, give me a holler.

I’m still taking Friday off in case anyone still wants to play golf…
This was kind of my hope. Lots of y’all seemed ready to play some golf so I hope people still get together.
That sucks. I actually liked both of the two holes they smashed together. The par 3 wasn’t terribly interesting but it was kind of a cool way downhill shot.
Eastern Iowa guys, anyone want to play golf on Friday? I really don’t want to be at work on Friday and haven’t played golf out east in quite some time.

I can go anywhere with only one potential hitch. My ABS light in my car came on on the way home so I’m getting that looked at tomorrow after school. As long as it’s nothing, I’ll be good to go
Well they can’t look at my car until 8 tomorrow so the only place I might get to play is in Pella tomorrow. Shitty luck
