Roll Call: Iowa

Miss the days of getting TeeOff specials for 50-60 bucks there. Definitely agree it’s tough to justify the 150-175 price point now

Yeah man, we got to play it last spring for $85 after the local rate. Was fine paying that, once. Anything more? Nah dawg

Man I think a couple years ago I played 36 for like 100 bucks. Definitely worth that I think

On top of it, likely CPO out there being just a couple weeks from the tournament.

Any Des Moines area guis interested in the 8" cup scramble at Terrace Hills on July 4th?

Deere Run decided to raise rates significantly after the bunker renovation. The tour was concerned with how much play the course was getting and decide to increase rates to give the course a bit of a break. I get locals being upset about being priced out but man it’s been awesome having an empty course most nights. Got a week left til we close if anybody wants to get a round in prior to the tournament. $85 is the best rate I can get on weekends or $65 if anybody wants to go out after work. CPO and some roped off areas might make it better to wait until after the tournament tho. Been so quiet up there I decided to try a YouTube video.

I love the tee box on 2!

Need to find a way out there now that my driver is somewhat under control…

I’d love to take you up on that after the tournament and after I finish my move. I’ve always enjoyed it. Fall out there with the colors pops so well.

I toyed with the annual pass there, but with where we ended up living, I ended up at the

Would be glad to host you or anyone else out in the group there once I’m in town!

Hey guis, looking for some recommendations for courses in the Des Moines area. Thinking Waveland, any other spots we should check out?

Just Des Moines? How many days/rounds?

Des Moines area, just two round. Casual group, golfers, but not sickos.

Waveland for sure. After that its wherever you can. Blank is ok by the zoo, can get a great tendorloin and shake after at smittys. Jester Park is ok, Legacy is more open off tee but subdivision lined.

This may be the 1st time I wish I was an Iphone person. Guess I could use my work phone. I need to get back there. Somehow have only played it once. Walked it probably 25 times (6 times lugging @Scuba_steve60 s pro bag back in the day)

How did you hold the phone?

I propped a selfie stick I found at 5 below in my bag. I’ve been dealing with horrible tennis elbow and started to develop some bad habits so I wanted to see how bad it was. Decided to take it out on the course and see if I could make something like I’ve seen on YouTube.
It’s really just practice for my long term sicko plan to record my quest of playing every 9 hole course in Iowa. Just waiting for those lotto numbers to hit.

Drive a lot of back roads for work and pass so many 9 holers that look fun. Have stopped at a few, this is a sweet goal.

A guy I know in Pella has a goal each year to play golf in all 99 counties. He pulled it off last year. Said he would leave Pella to go to Northeast Iowa at like 2 and played 9 holes at 5 different courses just to get all that done. Sounds like a fun goal I’d like to try as I get older maybe
