The hole itself isn’t bad, it’s a short hole asking to hit a precise wedge shot. Having the greens that fast is pretty ridiculous.

My son just played there Monday at the Iowa PGA Junior Principle Classic. He played great and won the 12/13 division by 5 with a 76 in 30+ mph winds. After the round Russ Cochran was kind enough to hand out the trophies. My son asked him to sign his yardage book and he signed it “See you on Tour!” Anyway what a great course the have at wakonda. Really old school and should be fun to watch how the seniors deal with it.

I am friends with a member and have played a couple of times. Definitely heads and shoulders above anything in the area.

Imo
tpc has the best 18 holes
DCC has great finishes on both sides but 4-6 and 11-13 are weak holes
Fyre lake has best shot value
Oakwood has best greens

Im trying to find a way in 2 weeks. Have a wedding and hoping to play that Friday morning. Its my only great Iowa course Im missing. My GM was going to reach out but told me dont count on it.

The IGA hosted a member play day there pre-Covid. Hoping they bring that back this year!

Our regular Friday skins game at red Hawk was not enough for some of of the players last week. So they decided to have a $50 one club and putter match on the 3 hole pitch and putt. Four guys decided to try their luck and I happened to get their $200 match on video. Enjoy.
