Roll Call: Iowa

I think it’s like the handicap system…you can join as many clubs as you like, but you can only have your index assigned to one. so to make it out of your “local” roost and onto the “regional” tournament or whatever you have to pick one to play through.

One is strictly a leisure club, the other one is where the business happens

I have met you. You’re the farthest thing from a scumbag.

If @grandpa_jones is the student manager, then I’m the aging utility infielder of the Des Moines AAA roost.

I have been reading the KC roll call thread and all the discussions around the Roost… I’m wondering if we just submit an Iowa Roost, which will likely end up being one of the “pods” or whatever you want to call it. Even if it is small, we have somewhat of a start, and everyone can still join one of the larger roosts in the region/area that makes sense for them? This way we have at least somewhat of a start at least?

Thoughts?

I like it. As for a Roost name, what do we go with?

Cornstars?

Can we rip off The Pork Tornados?

I’m definitely in on submitting for an Iowa one, and then contracting out to the bigger markets that makes the most sense for competitive play until year 2 or 3 if this continues to grow.

I’ve been looking for a creative outlet since my shop closed so I will work on some general ideas for logo / names but by all means please keep throwing names out and maybe after we get a few put together we can have a bracket vote or if there is just a clear winner we can go from there?

Is anyone feeling particularly leader-y and want to be captain?

We can rip off anything with the right panache.

I thought this may be construed this way. I may have strong opinions on weak subjects, but would be concerned about the time commitment and organizational skills required.

Is this like a reverse psychology, “Those who do not seek power are most equipped to wield it” situation?

I may have to move.

The only people who use quotes like that are in fact, leaders

So, real quick, first thought was Goldfinch Golf Club. logo being the obvious state bird, maybe holding a pin flag with the NLU crest or the wayward drive? From a merch standpoint, classy options galore…
