I agree. Aside from the view of the pagoda, which is admittedly very impressive, 7 is more bark than bite. Compared to my favorites of 12, 14, 15, and 18, the front and other in-the-track holes just don’t do it for me.
I will readily admit that living here for more than 10 years and playing it more than a few times hardened my opinion. My father and brother really enjoyed 7-10 the one time they joined me there.
I consider Indy a good-not-great golf city and there’s far better ways to spread out $210 amongst 2-3 places than play one round at the Brickyard. $80-100, I’m definitely there, but not for the new price.
I’m proposing a Nov. 2nd event at Rock Hollow, “The Rock Hollow Relay, a Crossroads Invitational”
When : Nov. 2, 2024 (Tee times somewhere between 10am and 2pm)
Where : Rock Hollow GC. Peru, Indiana
Who : Crossroads Coop, Second City, OAtW, Supper Club, Fresh Coast Flock (anyone really)
What Format : 3 Man Stableford Relay - Pick your squad - Assign each player in the group 6 holes where by their score on those holes are the counting scores for the team. Tally all three players counting scores to create one joint, 18 hole team score.
Award for highest combined Stableford Team (3)
Award for Individual highest Stableford Score (1).
Why : Will it be “chilly”, probably… Will it be “freezing”, also probably… but it could be an absolute banger of a day as well.
I was thinking $25 per person to reserve your spot, collected in advance, which will be the charitable aspect to the event… Then have everyone simply pay greens fees at the time of the event, upon arriving. Carts and Walking are both options, but a bonus stableford point will be awarded to anyone who chooses to walk.
Posting here for interest level, official signup sheet to follow.
Hi All! - We are a month away from Pfaul Ball in Bloomington (Oct 12, tee times from 11-Noon).
We have 11 people signed up - please spread the word as I would love to get a full field of 16.
We will do 2-man bestball (aka team best score, aaka fourball). But since Pfau is very tough off the tee and hitting the second shot is where Pfau really flourishes, we are allowing each participant one tee shot mulligan per nine.
If you have your two-some set up, let me know or put in the spreadsheet.
Hi All!
Pfaul Ball is rapidly approaching (Oct 12, tee times from 11:12 - 11:48)
We have 11 golfers - I’d be very happy if we could get to 12.
Can you record your partner and your handicap numbers in the sign-up sheet?
Have I failed to mention that there will be a drawing for a certain 12yr old Black Label spirit, starts with a “W”, ends with a “eller”? Every participant will have a chance at being drawn for this, after play completes… ye only need to come and have a good time, benefiting a great cause, exploring an awesome course.
@pgoddard Are you all set with 12 for the Pfau Ball or are you still looking to fill a spot? Sheet indicates 11, in which case I’d be happy to join up and play.
I know this is likely a longshot, but if anyone in this group knows of someone with a Taylor Swift ticket they are looking to sell for the Indianapolis shows let me know. My wife is willing to pay a good price, just not $1000+ that is on Ticketmaster or other places.
Whats up yall, i am out in brownsburg. Would love more friends to play with, whether it be Divot golf sim, or any of the many courses we have out this direction.
