So someday I’ll have to stop at Taps with Teeps and watch you run the pool table is what you’re saying, got it
Northwest Indiana folks - I will be in Monticello from 7/2 until 7/7.
Definitely playing Tippecanoe one day. Open to other options if anyone wants to get out.
Depending on how far you’re willing to drive, Harrison Hills in Attica is awesome!
Sandy Pines is another must play.
West/SW side of Indy - Deer Creek best option? Looking for twilight Monday in a couple weeks with work people. I am coming from Terre Haute.
Don’t know what shape Deer Creek is in, but I would think of Links at Heartland Crossing as the best option. Normally. Unfortunately, they’re closing I-465 on the SOUTHSIDE on the 7th. So maybe look at anything before you get to 465.

EDIT: Coming from Terre Haute, you can actually avoid I-465 pretty easily to get to Heartland Crossing. And, of course, if work is paying the only choice is Brickyard Crossing.
This is buddy coworker and our dime. Thanks for the rec! Worked in Indy back half of '00s and never did Brickyard somehow, even kept my clubs at hotel then corp apartment. Played the city courses and north (lots of Coffin, Trophy, Prairie View) and rarely went west. Many hours at Riverside followed by Church’s on the way back to downtown.
I’m gonna try to get there around 7, to hit some balls, they do have a grass range (if it’s open) and a short game area.
Sick! I’m leaving around 5:30 to be there around 7:30 so I’ll see how well I’m able to get moving in the morning.
I’ll be in a light blue shirt and hat, should look like the profile pic actually lol.
See you in the morning!
Got a spot for one tomorrow night at 6 pm at The Hawthorns.
If I win the Powerball, I’m buying Coffin and Riverside from the city to restore to their old glory. Riverside on a summer evening couldn’t not be beat. I’d argue that for those who have played it, #13 was the most interesting golf hole in the Indy area
you may already know this, but Riverside is not just a massive nature preserve.
Hello Hoosier neighbors… Possibly in Indiana the weekend of 8/5 while my mom goes to a couple reunions. Looking for course recs within 30 minutes or so of Ligonier? Cobblestone any good? TIA!
Yeah, wish I could have played up to the moment… Actually had a few CCO members turn it down the invite as I filled my foursome.
I’m not sure you can count it as a nature preserve, just a closed golf course that no-one has done anything with. I just drove by it a couple weeks ago when I played Coffin- nothing has been done there since it shut down. The entrance still looks like the same lock on the door.
At least the people that bought Wolf Run really did turn it in to a Preserve. Or maybe not (this article is also a few years old).
Also, funny that Riverside article, from pre-pandemic December 2019, basically says that golf is dying.
Technically on the green in Reg here…
Was a blast, even if most of us didn’t play that well. I actually didn’t take many pictures today- I’ve got tons from covering so many tournaments here.
I see you @PatParham!
Currently in NC, otherwise I most likely would have called in “sick” to join.
God damn am I jealous. Like @papateeps i would have done many things to have been on the team.
Cobblestone or (a smidge farther) Noble Hawk, either are worth the time.
I’ve only played Cobblestone once a few years ago, I play Noble Hawk a couple times a week… if you need a playing partner, let me know.
