NorCal trip! Guessing mostly Monterrey as I spy what I believe to be pac grove. Then something in the south/east bay based on the hills in the background on the last pic.
It’s been about 5 years since moving back and the golf is probably the only thing I miss.
I’m subbing into a buddies trip in Lafayette this weekend. My priority was to play Ackerman as I haven’t played it since the renovation. Unfortunately the group is playing it in the early afternoon on Friday and I can’t swing that with work, so I’m planning on playing around 5. Hoping someone on the thread is able and interested to join. Let me know!

Any intel on Black Squirrel GC in Goshen? Plans firming up for this weekend. Meadow Valley at 2:12 Saturday, Bent Oak 7:20am Sunday, if anyone would like to join. Will likely be staying in Goshen area.
no intel on black squirrel but just played Meadow Valley two weekends ago. Grew up going to wawasee with family and never played golf in that syracuse/goshen area. Future brother in law dragged me to meadow valley as the first time off & I thought it absolutely rocked

I thought it was just kind of a meh course overall. Nothing I’d go out of the way to play. Conditions were suspect, this was about 2 years ago.

want to hear your thoughts on the 8th hole at meadow valley after the weekend. I was debating putting that hole in the Yuck club, that tree on the right side of the fairway is more like a centerline tree and it body bagged me
Edit: it’s the 7th hole before the par 3 8th

Looks like Black Squirrel is under new management, but GPS in The Grint app does not look encouraging.
Bent Oak not looking that great either, honestly. But I just gotta kill some time that morning so might as well get some swings in I guess.
Anyone have a recommendation for Indianapolis? Was looking at The Fort and the Brickyard but wondering if they will be gimmicky? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Parents live at The Villages down in San Jose now so that’s the last one.
First two are The Hay at Pebble Beach and then Pacific Grove.
The Fort is great. Havent played Brickyard.
I refuse to acknowledge the “gimicky” comment beyond this, but if you’re looking for a less obvious Dye course then The Fort is for you.
That being said, personally, I think the Brickyard is better.
