Sometimes if you keep looking around Thursday or Friday people drop their tee times at Gus. Will be tough to find 8 spots together though. With Memorial closed through next weekend its gonna be tough anywhere decent this month.
I’m a big fan of Bay Forest. Significantly better than Battleground in my opinion. Very walkable (going under the road on 1-2 and 8-9 are the only long walks). Lots of water but it’s generally in really good shape, and the practice green was very good as of Sunday.
I’ll be living in Sugar Land for the next 6 weeks for a clinical rotation, coming from Austin. Sounds like Memorial is the dream to get out to play while I am here and Gus as well. If anyone ever needs a 4th I’d love to join.
Appreciate the info on Bay Forest! I will have to give it a shot next time I’m down that way.
Appreciate the feedback everybody. Looks like there’s plenty of open tee times tomorrow and Thursday at Gus so I’m gonna check it out as long as the weather lets me do so.
Happy to have anyone who wants to join.
Wish I could join you. Hopefully someone else on here can swing it. It’s a really fun course and in good shape (or at least it was last I played).
I’m at Braeburn, opens back up Dec. 11
I’m sure not soon enough for y’all. But at least y’all have had playing privileges at a few courses in town during the renovation to help keep your sanity.
Nice I guess it’s been down for a while now. Lost track of time. We have a few guys from Braeburn with us just for a year
Are any of you lovely folks heading out to Memorial this week for the tournament? Should be out there Saturday and hopefully it’s pretty firm and fast this year
I’ll be there Saturday from 10-3ish! Looking forward to it
I’ll be there Friday afternoon. Haven’t looked at the tee sheet but I’ll probably be following an afternoon group around. Excited there will be a full crowd this year!
Roosts anyone?

Only if you’re the Roost Captain! You’ve done an outstanding job in our Houston chapter.
In discussion with the rest of TX. I know DFW (North Texas) has the people for a full Roost. Trying to decide our best approach for the rest of the target is 20 total
Sign me up, Chuck!
I’d be down for a roost. Moving to Houston in January.
H-Town, consensus is we should be bundled with south/central TX. Based on number of roosts and what the dads discussed on the Nest pod it just seems right. @Jdonelson has a sign up sheet going (South Texas Refuge Roost - Southern Texas Roost Of Hospitality (STROHs) - Google Sheets). This will still allow us to do local events but give the opportunity for some light travel and gives us critical mass.
I signed up. The DFW group has almost as many members as the entire S. Tex. group. And of the S. Tex. group, there are only 9 in the Houston area. Let’s get some more H-Town folks signed up!
I don’t know how I missed this, I just added my name in there
