I know this thread is fairly old but recent posts seem to point to it still being alive. Houston native, currently living in Friendswood and a Member at Bay Oaks CC. Always down for a round with a good group so if anyone wants to check out Bay Oaks or get together for 18, let me know.

Welcome! I actually have only played bay oaks a few times but am moving to Clear Lake soon. I’d be interested in getting a round in sometime

Now that we’re moving south a little, do we have any knowledge on South Shores Harbour? Wife and I are looking to buy a house in League City and that seems like the obvious place to join. Been playing my limited golf at Timber Creek but two weeks ago might’ve pushed me towards the private sector.
I think ClubCorp gives you a combo membership of South Shore Harbor and Magnolia Creek. Plus Bay Oaks isn’t far away where you can get on as a ClubCorp member
If you’re thinking about Club Corp, I just joined Golf Trails at The Woodlands, I’m pretty pleased so far. Played in 3:30 Sunday morning which was awesome given the pace of play at some of the public tracks around town. Looking forward to checking out some of the other CC courses in the area as well and also happy to host anytime.
To any of you inside the loop (or outside for that matter), I normally try to slide over to Hermann park on Monday’s around 6 to walk as many holes as I can. Alleviates the Sunday scaries. Give me a shout if anyone is interested in joining! Get at least 12 holes or so in.
Taking a family trip down to Houston May 7th-9th. We will be staying at the Woodlands Resort. I have two tee times booked if anyone wants to join (I’m assuming all 4 spots aren’t taken yet).
Friday May 7th - 2:15pm Panther Trail (booked as a single)
Saturday May 8th - 8:06am The Oaks (booked as a 2some with my Wife)
My wife and 2 year old will be joining Saturday morning. Just an FYI.

I am a member at Mag Creek / South Shore if you got any questions. It’s one membership for both courses. I think Mag Creek is unquestionably the better course although South Shore is currently in better shape.
Going to be down in Cypress this coming weekend and looking to get out for a round on Saturday. Checking the area and doesn’t look like there’s too many times available in the morning… How’s Longwood?
Decent but not great. Had some struggles with the freeze so I don’t know what the greens are like at the moment. It’s in the neighborhood next to mine and I’d come play with you but I’ll have family in town.
Ya, recent reviews make it sound like they lost the greens in the freeze but not looking like there’s too many other options for a morning tee time unless I want to spend $110 at Blackhorse. Am I remembering correctly that the North course is the better one there?

does anyone have any instructor recommendations? looking for somewhere who is not going to be inclined to rebuild my swing from the ground up. bonus points if they are at memorial.
