Liberty Kitchen is good, Ciros, Union Kitchen, State Fair. Lots of better restaurants in the Montrose or Heights area like Riel, Paulies, Squabble, Coultivare, One Fifth ect… Plus hit up El Tiempo

Killens of the Heights is also money. Southern comfort food that’s as good as you’ll find anywhere.

Yeah, a positive of the 'Vid is reservations at Coltivare.
If you want to get out over your skis a bit, Georgia James is incredible. If you’re not, Hay Merchant (just next door) has great food and lots of beers to choose from.

Haha totally. It’s been a great change. In that area sad to see ritual go, one of my favorite old fashioneds in town. Also second your recommendation of squable, going there next Friday to celebrate 14 days of being vaccinated. Heights is crazy food wise these days

Saw some posts from last year, but wanted to see if anyone else had opinions on High Meadow Ranch. My in-laws are moving out of Houston proper to Magnolia and will be <5 minutes away from High Meadow Ranch, so I guess that’s where I’ll be playing my golf when I go visit them. I’ll miss being 15 minutes away from Memorial Park though.

It’s in great condition, really hard course too. Fairly expensive unless you’re a member though. I think we paid $80 for green fees on a weekday.
It’s a cool course, but kicked my ass when I played it.
HMR is really nice course. If you don’t join as a member, get the Ranch Card . Gives you $20 off rack rate and a free M-Th round after playing 10 rounds.
Used to play 10-15 rounds a year before I joined my club. YMMV

Real jealous of the golf courses you guys get to play. @ajsHTX and @Drewski were so much fun to play with today reminded why the refuge is so great. Gus is a real gem. I would love to have that as my go to everyday course. Sad to go home tomorrow but I won’t miss the wind.

Glad we got to play today! Wind aside the weather was perfect, glad we got to play before it’s into the 90’s every damn weekend.
Also, everyone stop playing at Gus. It’s too hard to find reasonable tee times
