I live in Fresno (between Pearland and Missouri City).
Been playing since I was 12, but only taking it more seriously in recent years (I’m 36 now)
I pretty much play all over the various public courses.
Got that crazy $190 3-year deal at Pearland Golf Club, so I play there often.
I also enjoy: The Wilderness, Gus, Cypresswood, Eagle Pointe, Cypress Lakes, Black horse, WildCat, Quail Valley, Cinco Ranch, River Pointe, among others.
Logged about 80 rounds during this COVID year.
Working from home currently and been listening to a bunch of NLU pods (including The Trap Draw).
The NLU guys seem to be pretty like-minded to me, as my “addiction” for the game seems to have have reached an all-time high. Definitely given me some different perspective on the game, specific how I view course architecture, game development, and why it has become an important part of my life.
I really just like to go out and have a good time, but like to see the handicap trending in a good direction.
Currently playing off an 8.4 index, but my goal is reduce my anti-handicap (worst 8 rounds out of 20) down from 15.3. I love to lose $$ in skins games.

Anybody interested in trying to get a tee time on the books for next weekend? Weather looks iffy as of now but that’s certainly been a rollercoaster of late… Hope all made it through the storm alright.

FYI Christians Tailgate on Bagby is the Houston Bills Backers Bar.
Makes for a great place to watch the games on Sundays!

I’m in River Oaks, anything within 45 minutes or so is cool with me
One of the best deals in town is Gus Wortham. Unfortunately, they’re all booked up this weekend for times that we could actually finish.
They do sometimes randomly come available, so I can keep my eyes peeled for a decent slot.
In the meantime, here are some other courses we can consider…
These I think are the nicest courses with the most reasonable rates:
-Eagle Pointe, The Wilderness, Cypresswood (all pretty far though)
These are nice courses that are probably overpriced:
-Wildcat, Blackhorse, Meadow Brook, Cinco Ranch, Cypress Lakes
These are decent courses reasonably priced:
-Sienna, River Pointe, Greatwood, Clear Creek
Oh yeah, and Memorial is always impossible to get on.
Feel free to look any of these courses up and give your feedback.
Also, if anyone else wants to chime in on this list please feel free.

I have nothing to contribute to this except Wilderness was my home course growing up. Had no clue how nice it was to have that less than 10 minutes from my house.

I worked down in Freeport/Lake Jackson for about a year and it was awesome having the course a short drive for after work. Also very cheap for the quality. However. they did seem to have a ton of outings that ruined my plans from time to time.
The Wilderness is about an hour from me but looks sweet, I’ve played a bunch of the others so if that’s the move I’d be down for that.
Wilderness sounds good to me!
It’s a long drive, but an easy drive down 288.
Tee times don’t fill up there too quickly, so we can maybe decide a day and time in a couple days.
I may be able to find 2 more as well.

Wilderness is awesome and always worth the drive. Bring bug spray as it’s hit or miss on mosquitos down there depending on time of year. Got absolutely swarmed by them one round a few years back!
