Awesome, heading down the week of the 20th to scope it out then moving sometime the first week of November. I’ll post here again in a few weeks and try and get something set up.
Any thoughts on some of the private clubs? I’ve looked at Club Corp a bit, any idea if it’s worth it?
I belong to Royal Oaks just outside the beltway, no complaints so far
If you are moving to River Oaks area, club corp wont be worth it. The only decent club corp courses are Kingwood or Bay Oaks. I would look at Brae Burn, Royal Oaks, Westwood and I heard Lakeside might have come down on their initiation fee. Definitely give Memorial Park and Gus Wortham a try even if you join a club.

Royal Oaks is a really nice club. @jsteve15 was nice enough to host me out there. Great service and course conditioning. Definitely worth a look. Might be a long drive from River Oaks area. YMMV
I’ve been at Braeburn for 3 years and have really enjoyed it. It’s a very approachable comfortable club with a good setup for younger members and members with families. Would note they are redesigning the course next year, which based on the sketches, will be a nice improvement once it’s done. Might also mean you get a decent deal to join now and we will have some solid reciprocals until the course is finished.
I definitely liked the look of Braeburn too online, thanks for the heads up.

Played Windrose with my caddie friend today. They sent off a tournament full of juniors 30 minutes before us. At 5.5 hours we were through 15 holes and called it.
He did take multiple calls from Michael Collins while we were playing though which was great. Michael is hilarious and was calling to let Kessler know he was playing golf with Burt Kreischer. He kept calling back to update us on how it was going.

Would love to play if you guys want to get a Houston get together soon. Live out in Fulshear but don’t mind driving in for a Memorial park or Gus. Hoping to get on Memorial before tournament time!
They just announced that the schedule with basically be 1:30pm shotgun starts until tournament time.
