The sad thing about Melrose is that isn’t a case of some fungus or something that sprung up. It’s been like that for several years now.

Here’s where I pitch https://spacecityweather.com/ as possibly the best resource for weather related shenanigans around town. They focus on being hype free and providing information that is local to us. They were very good during Harvey and basically every storm since. They usually update twice a day on their site but they post on twitter more frequently. As the storm gets closer they’ll update more often.

What’s going to happen with Hurricane Laura? Laura keeps moving west. Looking like we will get some strong wind and rain. This sucks. Weather permitting (LOL) I am supposed to play High Meadow Ranch Thursday for my free birthday round and Sterling CC on Friday.

You’ll be fine if the track stays the same. The western side of a hurricane gets much less wind and rain, and that far inland you won’t be dealing with storm surge. Now, it may knock out the power for a while and I’d recommend filling your bathtubs up with water in case the water is out for an extended period of time and you need to flush. But other than that, you won’t be dealing with the major dangers of a hurricane.

Laura, going to be a Cat 4 hurricane? Holy smokes. Glad it is going to miss Houston. Prayers sent for those on the TX/LA border area. Going to be a rough night.
Houstonians, we should get some pretty good wind tonight so take out those low irons and practice your stingers.

Can’t wait to tee up my driver in Tanglewilde at 3 am and see if I can blast one across the beltway.
Side note: what’s everyone think of Longwood? I’ve only played 18 of the 27 but man is it a fun layout, however the greens are just in such rough and inconsistent shape. Fairways are great, layout interesting. I’ve heard they were redoing the greens but who knows.
Longwood is a fun layout, but conditions are spotty especially after it rains. The course has a number of holes that don’t drain well. YMMV
Still getting out to High Meadow today (happy birthday I guess…)? My son has a tournament coming up down there, need to get him out for a practice round.
Yea, Longwood is a cool layout but the greens/drainage sucks. They also have potential in the clubhouse but the vibe sucks.
