Just saying…

I’m going to be in Weybourne, Norfolk for a week in the summer.

Anyone got any tips for golf nearby?

Sheringham, Cromer, Hunstanton and, of course, Brancaster are all really good.

You got a car while there @AndyDowney ? Not too far away from a bunch of us in East Anglia. Mark’s suggestions above are all :ok_hand: but we have members at Thetford, Gog Magog, Woodbridge, Girton, I’m at Royston. Be good to see you and hang out finally.

I will have a car. We’ll actually be around Cambridge for a few days the week before but that’s for a wedding and there is 0% chance I can get out of that!

Mr Google Maps is telling me we’re staying 5 minutes from Sheringham so I may need to investigate that more. An initial browse and the place looks elite.

Sherry is awesome. But all four of those courses are sublime. I actually prefer Cromer over Sherry but it’s just a personal taste thing.

Let us know what your plans are. A bunch of us are local and any excuse to nip up there for a round or two is always welcome.

I’m over that direction 10th - 17th July so maybe 13th, 14th or 15th?

Sheringham is £75 after 1.30pm. Cromer is £50 after 2pm so an afternoon stroll (hopefully in the sun!) would be delightful.

You’re on!

And do Cromer. 2/3 the price but not 2/3 the golf course. I actually prefer it.

GB friends,

I’m heading across the pond with my fiance and her family for a wedding early next month. We are spending 2-3 days in London, then 2-3 days in Cotswolds (Lower Swell). This is my first time to England (other than a two day stop in 1998 as a youngster). My soon to be sister-in-law’s boyfriend (and good friend of mine) and I are doing some research on golf in or around Lower Swell.

Where should I be looking? Is the golf good in this area? Are there any can’t miss courses or should I just prioritize convenience since this if very much not a golf trip for me.

Thanks for any help!

Dude, you’re in for a treat!

Cleeve Hill is 15 mins away on a hill overlooking Cheltenham. £25 a round. Old Tom Morris and Dr MacKenzie course that’s insane.

10 mins beyond that is Painswick, the craziest fucking golf course in England.

Minchinhampton Old and Huntercombe are also doable, as is Burnham & Berrow, if you want to get your links on.

Slightly north are some pretty good parkland courses round B’ham.

Agree 100% with CAD, Cleeve Hill is a must visit Your Merchness. Hope you have a great time and the weather treats you kindly.

Quick edit - look how happy I look in my profile pic… that’s at Cleeve in the pissing rain and hurricane gales. Can’t miss

Hey everyone–My wife and I are moving to London in ~2 weeks (from Seattle, WA). Would love to meet anyone & everyone here for a round or two (or plenty more). I’ve also seen rumors of a WhatsApp group, any way I could join that?

I love how RACDG is spreading, ‘rumours’ of a WhatsApp group make it sound like Fight Club.

First rule of RACDG?

Smash that mute button, probably.

Soon it’ll be code words and phrases.

Night time beside the 11th green at an undisclosed local course, ‘The red squirrel is out on the full moon.’

‘OK, you’re in!’

I’ve got a day or day and a half gap on a work trip in London. Looks like Sunningdale is fresh out of visitor tee times the day I have. Thinking of driving down to Royal St George’s and Deal.
Is this a good or bad plan? And does anyone want to join in the fun? Looking like Sep 13 or 14.

Can’t go wrong with either of those. Though RSG can be difficult on tee times if it’s busy. Hayling is an option down the coast. Norfolk too.

There are lots of other heathland around London though. Berkshire, St George’s Hill, Walton Heath, the Ws. Hankley & Hindhead are both magnificent.
