Great to hear! I play out of Black Bush GC in Dunshaughlin but because of all of the travel restrictions last year I’ve played a lot around various different courses in Dublin, mainly in opens during the week. Fingers crossed we can all get back to it soon!
You should get into the RACDG GB&I chapter. We have a WhatsApp going with way too many people in it to keep up with… But there’s also a Ireland WhatsApp where you can arrange games and watch people obsess about Rory every Thursday - Sunday.
I’m sure @The_Cad_Says would be glad to add you in if you’re interested. And as a word of warning you’ll be bombarded with a few questions from a lot of different directions so if you would like to review to make sure you answer properly you can shoot me a dm.

Is there an Ireland specific whatsapp? Find it very hard to keep up with the main chat so maybe that’s the one! Based over here in the West

Yeah there is, main chat can be a bit much allright. I just get involved during a down period but the conversation moves on so quickly it can be difficult. If you @me in the main chat I’ll let the Irish WhatsApp admins know you need an invite, they don’t monitor the main thread I think so unless someone tells them they won’t know.

Hey everyone! Been an NLU listener for about 2 years but this is my first time in the Refuge.
Grew up playing courses in the Glasgow area, then was lucky enough to spend 5 years in St Andrews, followed by 7 years playing North Oxford GC. Now living in North London and trying to figure out what to do when things finally open up. Considering maybe joining a society rather than a golf club? Anyone got any thoughts/advice on that?

Hi All,
New member but long time NLU listener. Living in Galway Ireland last few years and had the luxury of living beside Galway Bay golf course. Originally from the midlands and home to a certain Open Champion. Pretty high handicapper working my way to getting it down.
Hope to get back out on the course soon to work on the grind as soon as this lockdown is eased.
Hope to get involved in the irish NLU scene if there is one!

There is a good Irish contingent. You need to get in the WhatsApp group. We don’t have anyone else in Galway. Few in Cork, few in Dublin and a good group in the North.
