Roll call Florida refugees

FWIW I played Clermont National yesterday and was very impressed with the shape of the greens.

Some interesting holes (10, 11) and a very nice resturant/bar/outdoor recreation area.

Reasonably priced @ $70 on a Sunday morning.

The place is begging for a Splash event.

Thank you buddy. Will have a look at these now. I must say Victoria hills was circa 18 years ago now. So, understandable it’s changed!!

As part of my efforts to get more involved in this community, I’ll post as an (atrocious) player who’s living in Tallahassee.

Best walking courses in Orlando in January? Striking out on finding somewhere reasonably prices that is also walking friendly for my student trip in January.

Winter Park 9, Winter Park Pines (now called WP18) and Dubsdread. All should be super reasonably priced.

Finally got everything booked for my trip with the students.
Omni Championsgate (International)
Legends Lake
Cabot Citrus (Karoo)
WP9

Any other cool things around orlando high school boys would enjoy?

Looking for recs to play in the Coral Gables area in January. Is the Biltmore course worth it? Staying in CG but won’t have a vehicle outside of Uber so hopefully there’s something decent nearby. And if anyone is in the area and wants to play on Friday, Jan 17, 2025 LMK.

Biltmore is a fun and quirky Donald Ross course, I’d recommend checking it out. Is it worth like $200+ probably not, but as a visitor playing it for the first time and being on vacation it’s probably easy to pull the trigger. Grenada is walkable 9 hole loop in the middle of coral gables.

This is high season in Florida, so all of the tee times are going to be pricey. Blame the Golf Boom and also the snowbirds.

With this restriction you’re either using a connection to get on Riviera CC or playing the sister course Biltmore. Watch out for the iguanas, they’re feisty and think your ball is an egg to eat.

Haven’t seen Indian Creek recommended. Can you get a tee time through Amazon Prime yet?

Im only in CG for 36 hours (visiting daughter at school) so if I have to pay for Biltmore so be it. Then I’m hopping the Brightline (cheers @RobertHunter ) to ORL on Saturday to play WP9 before heading to Streamsong on Sunday*. Then it’s on to Naples for two days of golf down there.

*In theory - depends on availability of tee times.

Wow what an itinerary (if you’re able to get a tee time at streamsong)

Biltmore is awesome and it in great shape right now. Expensive for out of towners but what isn’t expensive in Miami nowadays.

No brainer to play it if you are in CG.

If you want some more “views” then head to Crandon. Just opened post “maintenance renovation” and is looking pretty nice. It’s a much more difficult track than Biltmore though so keep that in mind.

Hello Floridians!

I am heading down to the Fort Lauderdale area the weekend of Feb 1st for my bachelor party and am looking at places to play for a couple groups. A few years ago we played Jacaranda and enjoyed it but want to try something else out. Looks like Emerald Hills and Plantation Preserve are some popular options? Anything else we should look into - or try and avoid?

Also looking into fishing charters, any recommendations there? I’ll hang up and listen!

If The Park isn’t too far from where you’re staying I’d recommend that.

Second The Park or Osprey Point (if you can get a time).
