Roll Call: Eastern PA/ South NJ

I am way down for glen mills on Christmas Eve.

It’s a great course for sure. From what I understand it’s ownership has been restructured too.

A few friends joined [White Manor] earlier this year so I’ve been out there 5-6 times. The course is absolutely outstanding. Well manicured and immense in terms of land it covers. I will say that they (the members) do not speak very highly of the club outside of the golf itself (specifically, food/bar/people).

I played Glen Mills a few days ago. I was terrible but I haven’t played much in the past 45 days so whatever, I wasn’t upset for the most part. It’s crazy how that tornado earlier this year took out so many of it’s trees. The 7th green was a little rough but it looks like a tree or at least a large branch landed on it during that storm. All of that said it was still fun and a nice track overall. I’m happy to support them while they go through cleaning and repairing their grounds.

What’s up guys…new to this. I play a bunch out of Jeffersonville (old Ross public spot). With two kids my rounds have gone down a bit but looking forward to 2020. See you guys out there.

Hey there. Jeffersonville is a fun track. Played it once this year, but boy was it slow. Are you in the Norristown, KoP area?

Yeah it can be tough out there at times. With courses closing locally and then matching it with being such a quality course at a solid price, there is just no break for the place. Always booked solid.

Superintendent there is a true hero.

I’m in Lansdale but work in Valley Forge so I’m out that way bunch. Should do a meetup in the spring if there are others around the area.

I have an opposite commute when I have to go in to the office. I’m in the Malvern/West Chester area but my office is in Blue Bell. I have been living in the area part time since August and just now full time for the past week. I am still trying to find a regular place to play.

Welcome aboard. My buddies and I play Riverwinds once or twice a year, longish course if I’m remembering correctly.

Thank you! Very long from the back tees but a great course. The back 9 is the best. Especially 17. I am very lucky and live 5 minutes from the course. Great walk late in the summer afternoons too.

Wilmington CC member here and GAP player for about three years now. I echo the thoughts on GAP, it’s the best three sundays in the spring that get the golf season officially started. I’m an 8 handicap and play on team 2&3 at WCC depending on the scheduling and players available. Always love playing away so i can see other courses in the area. Last season we were paired up with Hartefeld, Concord and Penn Oaks for team 2 and Wyncote, Stonewall and Loch Nairn for team 3.

Thank you, the WCC golf committee, the superintendents and golf pros have really done a nice job over the years. We have a great little pocket of courses in northern new castle county - DuPont, Fieldstone, Biderman on the private side and the public courses like Rock Manor, Porky Oliver and White Clay Creek.

I used to work down in Delaware. Delcastle was a favorite of mine - great value and fun course. I recently took a new job closer to Phila. area (home) and joined Sandy Run CC, excited to play in the GAP matches as well!

Saw this thread floating to the top, so I figured I should introduce myself as well. I’m a new Refugee who lives in Radnor, PA. I’m fairly new to golf, and have only been playing for two years, but I really enjoy some of the local public courses (Paxon Hollow, Jeffersonville, Cobbs, etc). One of my goals this year is to establish a legit handicap in the GHIN system so I can participate in GAP events in the future. I’ve heard great things, and look forward to getting involved.

I may do just that. Was kicking around that and Philly Pub Links since I’ve heard good things about that as well.

Awesome. The feedback here re. GAP matches has really been encouraging. Going to sign up this year.
