Roll Call: Eastern PA/ South NJ

Good afternoon!

Been lurking, happy to finally join the conversation. Like many of you, big fan of Jeffersonville (where I play most of my rounds), but also have gotten to Paxon Hollow and Pitman multiple rounds this season.

I work with someone who is on the Board for the Cobbs Creek Foundation, so it’s been cool to get some updates on what’s going on there too… that will be a great day when The Olde Course opens up again.

Played a little college (DIII) club golf in the area, so have had the privilege of playing some nice private tracks locally, but, that’s sooooo long behind me now…! Went on a 10 year-ish hiatus from the game due to work schedule (restaurants), but now fully back and hoping to meet some of you at The Steeplechase!

One thing for the community–I have a 10:30am Tee Time for 2 at Jeffersonville on Sunday (6/20, Father’s Day) that I unfortunately will be not able to make anymore due to an unforeseen work event. Anyone here interested in the tee time? Figured I’d ask here before I cancel it with JVille.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Are you in the Norristown area close to Jeffersonville? I also play most/all my rounds at either Jeff or Paxon (which is 5 min from my house)!

Thanks! In South Philly, actually, but I find it worth the trouble to get out there to play. (Being able to get my kid back into Daycare has been a game changer, I’m sure you can understand.)

Just played it on Friday morning, good to see the fairway bunkers back open on 5! Tee Boxes on 6 looking good, but weren’t open yet.

And as someone noted on the Steeplechase thread, the bunkers on 9 could use a fill… otherwise, playing great as always!!

Just moved to Exton with fiancé and jumping on this thread to see about making some playing connections. Im a 7 hcp., basically just looking for somewhere I can always get a game (good water pressure optional). Cheers!

I am in Ardmore and generally play at Cobbs, but have been playing JVille and Glen Mills since that project started. I’m always looking for new people to play with, especially actual golfers, a few of my groups are primarily guys that just like getting out, but not necessarily obsessed like me. Current 11.6 and climbing. I try to get out once a week or every other week. Let’s tee it up! Hopefully I’ll make it to the steeplechase. I do have a spot time for the golfers journal event at J’Ville in August if I don’t make it to the NLU one.

Would love to join you at Jeffersonville or Glen Mills sometime. I’m ~ 8 but haven’t been out much cause I’m new to the area and it seems like a lot of courses don’t allow people to book as a single.

i’m up for joining a group at Glen Mills. I’m in Wilmington so Glen Mills is much easier than Jville for me.

Would be super down to get in on either of these as well!

I’m in to join as well at any of these courses and play off 11.6.

Good options out that way also, white clay creek is great, Wyncote is a winner. Inniscrone has had condition issues, but always a fun/tough/quirky loop (I dont knock conditions as long as I get what I paid for…). I would be open to anything in the next 2 weeks, I have pto to burn, so weekdays work for me as well. Also I wouldn’t have to negotiate watching our son with my wife.

Anyone know of a good place to get out for Twilight? In Florida and Arizona, there were places I could walk on after work, but I’m seeing a lot of “Tee Times Required” and “No Single Tee Times”

It’s excellent, but it’s also a kick in the teeth. Better bring extra balls when the grass everywhere is knee height.

Where are you located? A lot of the courses in the Limerick area (where I work) are “all you can walk” during twilight hours for like $15-$20. I used to do it all the time prior to kids!

What courses?

Oh sweet! I’m in Exton, and been eyeing around Limerick. Which ones should I look out for?

I used to hop on Turtle Creek, Landis Creek, and sometimes Bella Vista after work at around 5:15-5:30.

I haven’t played Landis Creek—is it any good?—but Turtle Creek and Bella Vista are both a treat.

It’s a simple track - they’re trying to bring it back to life. I used to just go there and bang like 2-3 balls per hole to practice.

Hey guis, anyone interested in filling out a foursome of Nesticles? @yungloudancolin, @7evanUP, and I are planning to be at Jeffersonville the morning of 7/11. Would love to add a fellow Refuge member to make it a mini-meet up.

Tee times are not yet opened for booking, so we’ll see exactly what we get in a few days’ time.

Has anyone played Galen Hall recently? I think I’ll be playing there in a couple weekends and have heard good things.
