Roll Call: East Tennessee

During the summer it might have the best early morning then twilight deals around. Conditions have been great every time I’ve been.

@holeout and I are playing Sewanee this Saturday, anyone want to join? @chill?

If I hadn’t already paid for a round elsewhere, I would be so in.

Got plans Sunday, but ya’ll should try and meet us at Sewanee saturday!

Have the places everyone has played during quarantine done a good job with social distancing/methods for paying made easier that kind of stuff? Do any come to mind that havn’t done so well and made you somewhat nervous at all?

Yes. There are a few places here that are still doing 2 to a cart.

Wish I could but I can’t. Is sweetens doing no pins?

@chen could answer that, he went out yesterday.

also did you meet up with @Mackmade?

They were still doing no pins as of yesterday. @Mackmade got tied up yesterday, we had to take a rain check on meeting up.

Got a late invite to Sweetens tomorrow. Anyone else gonna be out there?

Can yall confirm is walking only? We planed to walk atleast 9. But all day is kinda alot for some of my guys.

Yes it’s walking only currently. I walked 36 on Saturday for my first time at Sweetens and I’m still feeling it. But I’m a thicc boi who did it, so I wouldn’t let walking deter yall. It’s doable, especially being able to chill between 9s with no reason to dive right back in outside of the greatness of the course. Pushcarts are available to save your back from carrying the whole day as well.

Yea. I walked 27 the first time I went. I’m good with it. My buddy’s, not do much.

Yeah my buddies were shocked when I told them that I walked that much as I’m the largest of the group. I’ll say a good chunk was adrenaline due to finally getting on at the course. The other part was a bit mental telling myself not to be a bitch and keep playing. But to each their own. I think its more daunting up front to think about than it is to actually do, but just my opinion. Has your group been before? If they’re the kind of guys that will truly appreciate Sweetens, I think you’re good. If its just another course to them, then I completely get your sentiments because I have a few friends who would feel the same way.

For sure. Sweetens is the easiest walk on the planet, and if they don’t like walking that course, they don’t like walking.

It’s a great walk. The worst part of the walk is up to 7 green, when you get up there to realize that your ball rolled 25 yards off the side. Then you chip up, and realize it rolled 25 yards to the other side. Then you have to go find your wedge. Good times.

This comment hit me right in the feels. I’m not sure they were fond feels, but woof what a challenging green

I went for the first time with a friend and we basically had the place to ourselves. We had so much fun that I was oblivious to any fatigue. Next day and day after I was definitely reminded walking 40 something holes in the heat of summer took a toll.

Sweetens is maybe the easiest walk. Little to no elevation change after you walk down from the first tee and back up after the ninth green. Everything else is less than 8 feet.
