I agree that there are some cool holes there. I thought the par 3s were good and the last par 5 on the back (maybe 17?) I need to get back out there this summer.
Why don’t we continue this off line?
Looking to play in the Knoxville area Friday morning. Any recommendations on courses that are still open? Dead Horse Lake any fun?
Dead Horse is a fun little track and they were open as of last weekend, idk about other courses in Knox as of today.
I’m out at Patriot Hills in Jefferson City, we’re still open.
Willow Creek is open and in pretty good shape.
Love that place! That was the first time I broke 80. 3 hours sleep and very worse for the wear.
Willow seems to always be in good shape. Love that place
Sweetens Cove is still open. I lucked out at 9:45 tonight and got passes for me and a buddy for all day tomorrow
Well guys and gals, I’m here. Find me at Sweetens most days until 3:00 or so and then it’s a toss up if I stay and play. I will definitely provide updates on course conditions and agronomic practices (aerification). I will not take tee times or handle anything with golf, call the shed. Always up for fun pin placements or an extra roll, so holler when you are planning a visit and if we can accommodate, we will! Looking forward to it, message me for anything else and #iykyk
Welcome! Can’t wait to get down there ASAP.
Hell yeah man. Let’s have a driveway beer soon or something. What’s your schedule for this weekend?
Still finishing up moving in and that headache. Going to show the girlfriend SC today and we might check out around the river. Start work Monday and should normalize from there on out. Driveway beers or Dunwoody porch beers a must soon.
How in the hell did I miss this conversation? Thought y’all were my friends, but no one tagged me so…
.
Anyways
100% that course stinks. 18 might be my least favorite hole.
God, yes. I’ve been saying for years that the best thing you could do for that hole is stick 3 bundles of dynamite in it and blow it up.
But for real, you could combine 10 and the first half of 11 to make a decent par 4/5, and use the second half of 11 as a nice par 3. Would need some major tree removal tho, etc.

And 10, 11, and 18.
Yes, 16 at Willow Creek is the worst on the course. 2nd place is 14, 3rd place is 13.
17 is one of the better holes imo.
Never thought about this, but you’re not wrong. It’s just such a shitty tee shot tho.
Can I submit that the 4th at Cherokee CC unequivocally stinks?
Welcome to East Tennessee, my man! I’m up in Knoxville, and want in on some of the beers with you and @tedscott.
Hit up Egwani today with @vols89. Course was in good condition, but mostly just felt good to get back out after all this COVID quarantine bullshit. Hope to get a round or two with some more Knoxville guys here real soon
Can confirm. It’s in excellent shape right now and a great walkable course.
I’ve been hitting Willow pretty hard lately. It’s in excellent shape per usual. Greens are just too good.
We went back and forth between Willow and Egwani. In the end, the pimento cheese sandwich at the turn is what had me picking Egwani. I’m sure it’ll be WC here in the next week or two pending work.
Anyone have interest in a day pass for sweetens on 6/6 - planned on going with two buddies but they are both no longer keen on flying right now. Both of their passes are up for sale on Silk Road
I had never heard of egwani till I saw someone mention it a couple days ago. Def gonna have to put it on the list. It looks like a great course
