Roll Call: Colorado -- @PJM v Colorado Golfers, @PJM only half guilty

Afternoon fellas. Planning to get into tourney golf a bit more this season. Any suggestions on which to get involved with? I live in Denver but am not against putting some miles on the vehicle for a good tourney.

I am joining https://www.frgclub.com/ for this coming year. It’s a traveling league that plays all over Colorado. They just put up their 2021 schedule. It’s $165 I think to join and then each round is typically $90-120. It’s a little bit of an overpay for each course, but it’s a guaranteed weekend morning/early afternoon tee time. I joined because of a few guys on the golfwrx forums who highly recommended it.

I was a mens club member at CommonGround, I think it is probably the best men’s club in town that isn’t a traveling league. I think it was like $100 for the year and about $75 per tourney including greens fees. I may join again next year even though I’m a member at a different club.

I think I’m going to take the leap with a CG annual pass and the men’s club this year. I’ve always been a wandering golfer and there’s some apprehension about getting bored with playing the same course a bunch of times, but I live 10 minutes away and the pros seem to outweigh the cons here.

CG Men’s Club registration opens Monday. They just sent out the full schedule for the year.

If you haven’t been a member before you need to email the club chair ahead of registration, if anyone needs that info ping me.

Speaking of CG, we just had one spot open up for today at 12:30. Anyone able to play?

Well give it until 930 or so before we call them to free up the spot.

Is anybody rolling the rock tomorrow and in need of a single?

Driving my ass up to Ute Creek this Saturday for an 11:20 tee time. If anyone else wants to brave the mid 40s you’re more than welcome to join. I got all 4 spots booked already.

I’d play if you don’t mind. We have our end of year tourney for our weeknight league up there so it’s alway nice to get a crack or two at it.

If you look closely, you’ll see a plaque on the 5th hole commemorating where my soul left my body in a CGA qualifier a few years ago.

I thought that was the 14 at Fox Hollow? How many souls do you have?!

I made a 14 on 16 at homestead.

I thought it was FH mens club, my apologies. You’ve left a lot of souls around the Denver metro.

I really just need to stop playing events where I can’t pick up after I get into double digits.

If you still have an open spot I’d be interested in checking out that course. I’ve thought about playing it a few times

You snagged the last spot. Looking forward to playing with you guys.

It’s a decent course. RTJ Jr. I think. It has a lot holes that you’ll recognize if you ever have played a RTJ Jr. before. Not sure it’s worth the drive from Denver all that often, but you could do way worse.

10 just owns me.
