Roll Call: Colorado -- @PJM v Colorado Golfers, @PJM only half guilty

No joke. Everywhere is in best condition I can remember. Hope it stays that way with the heat coming on and hope I can keep it out of the tall stuff…

CG was a blast mostly. My friends lost tons of balls. The native grass was very long and the weather was schizophrenic. The carts didn’t work properly until the 5th hole or so because of the high heat. If any of you ever make it to the chicago area this course reminded me of a mix of Sunset Valley, Shepherds Crook, and Mount Prospect. The land was beautiful and there were animals everywhere.

Had to skip hole 17 due to darkness. Hole 4 was great. My buddie had parred the first 3 holes then lost his ball on the fourth fairway. We gave him a free drop and he made par. Then hit two shots into the creek on 5 which was right in front of the tee box. The second par 3 was ridiculously hard. Luckily I hit a perfect shot because everyone else missed by a couple feet and made doubles. Love a course with 5 par 3s.

Anyone looking for a tee time for this weekend? I’ve got 7:30am on Saturday morning (6/12) at Commonground, with three spots available.

I was up Friday night and managed to snag the early tee time. None of my normal partners in crime can join, so I figured I’d check here before modifying the tee time or letting it go.

I have a wedding in Crested Butte in late July. I am looking to play some ski resort/mountain golf a few days before the wedding, by myself at that. I’m a 2 handicap and am looking for resort style stay and play packages. With the limited research I’ve done, Red Sky Ranch seems like a good option. Any other suggestions?

You can’t get on Red Sky Ranch unless you know a member or stay overnight at a Vail owned property. Don’t play Copper Creek as it is not a good course.

Copper creek also has their back 9 closed this year, just a 9 hole loop

@Dancin isn’t completely wrong about Red Sky but you can definitely make a phone call and try to schmooze your way on or stay on site if there’s any lodging available.

Glenwood Springs is also surrounded by some great courses you could play that have great conditions and you’ll save some money by not paying resort fees. Then you could drive to CB from there via Aspen.

Check out:
Lakota Canyon (Jim Engh)
Gypsum Creek (Dye)
Ironbridge
River Valley Ranch

The intensity was flowing from the get go in the match with @redbeard_golf this afternoon. Blows were traded from 1-4. Took a 1 up advantage into the lone pop hole on 7, match gets square on 8, two working mans pars to each halve a point, everyone got a piece.

I did hear my opponent moan about the one stoke that was given on 8 tee, but I trust he knows the league will handle all handicap grievances with complete transparency and class

Colorado fugees, my partner for the BMW drive to the cup in town on June 28th has to pull out, anyone interested in taking his spot?

Did he have to pull out because he didn’t pull out? @jhkaplan

You probably should have pulled out of trying to slice that Avocado.

Handicaps are bullshit.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

But good match otherwise. I’d like to take a moment to thank Donald Ross and the superintendent staff at Wellshire for the out of bounds behind the 8th green which allowed me an easy backdoor into a half point.

@jskovgaard I’m sorry for your loss, I hope someone worthy steps in to fill these knickers.

@DeadMan listen, I’m going to let @skibum232 draft the official press release for the WD. That’s all I can say at the moment

Edit: official statement BMW Drive to Cup: Denver, June 28th, 2021--Registration Link in Post #96, Opens at Noon ET 4/26! - #154 by skibum232

@PJM our team is happy with the positioning so far in prelims, while it was a tough break with the unknown long OB, ultimately it’s rub of green and we got a split, complaining is a one way ticket to no where

Good time to make my first post in here. Moved up last fall and relied on the recommendations in this thread to find courses. Huge shoutout to all the people providing info. CO has some great golf.

@jskovgaard sorry your partner had to WD. I’m looking for a partner for the event and can fill the spot, not necessarily the shoes.

@_B3 I was hoping to pair up with a fellow Denver refugee, let’s do it
