Belated, but just wanted to say thanks to @slips, @Alldayray22 and @UncleWillie for a great (albeit soggy) round at Walnut Creek on Monday. Tough battles in the rain.
But, just to prove it can be better…a look back up #15 in nice weather. I took this a few years ago.
I played an early morning round at Riverdale Dunes on Saturday and it was a motley crew of 4 singles. After the half asleep first 3 holes wore off, one of the guys - probably in his early 40s - randomly asked me if I followed/ had heard of NLU. I don’t have any indicator other than maybe my Walker Trolley that I do and my overly sweeping left to right ball at times.
He had watched the Tourist Sauce series but didn’t know about the forum. I told him about the league and general growing group of CO golf nuts and to #getinvolved.
Hoping to see him pop in here at some point.
Edit: Riverdale Dunes is also is in pristine condition - but get ready to lose balls.
I got in 9 this AM at Meadow Hills. 6am off the back. Was in my car driving home by 7:10. This might become my new Monday morning ritual. Let me know if anyone interested for either Meadow Hills or Murphy Creek early AM rounds.
Got in 36 this weekend. Continuing my belief that every course in Colorado currently has the best conditions they’ve had in years.
Todd Creek on Saturday. Played with a guy that shot 73 from tips and had his buddy from the pro shop come out for a celeb shot on the 250 yard par 3. He ended up thinning it just short of the green with a 3 iron.
Red Hawk Ridge on Sunday. Shot a 90 from the tips combo and finally got my handicap below a 20. Officially a 19.6 now. I feel like if I take a nap during my driver swing it’s an easy 220-230 little blooper that puts it in play. The second I try to add any speed I’m hitting 80 yard snap hooks again.
Also, anyone here ever play with anyone regularly in a league or whatever that just gets under your skin?
One guy in the group usually says some dumb stuff that gets me steaming or won’t stop talking after missing a putt as everyone else is going through their routine. An example would be, “Damn, can’t believe that shot came up short. That’s my 170 club and I know I pured the shit out of it”. As he comes up 20 yards short of a 160 yard par 3 playing downhill with no wind.
