Gearhart, Manzinita and the Highlands are incredible places with unforgettable communities. Jason from Gearhart and Matt from Manzanita/Highlands have definitely crafted a very welcoming, unique experience on the Oregon coast. I could play those 3 courses everyday and never get tired of them.
Taking a gamble earlier this year and committing to play Utah/Nevada next week is looking to be a potentially regrettable decision. Over 100 just about every day for the week. I’m not sure what condition my corpse will be coming back to play the BMW event. Stocked up on white bucket hats and sun sleeves. Hopefully after I recover I can catch up the super league. Activity has been pretty quiet lately in terms of people throwing out local tee times on here. I hope y’all are still getting it in!
Fuck we played Riverdale Sunday and teed off at 7:45, took carts, and barely made it through the back nine. Granted they put so much water on that course it feels like you’re in the Midwest for the first nine but that was a struggle to finish. Can’t imagine how bad it would have been had we walked.
It’s going to be four of us in a Rav 4 (luckily with a roof rack) and we’re playing 8 rounds of golf in 6 days. Luckily we’re only playing 36 on Tuesday and Thursday, so there shouldn’t be any terribly grueling stretches. Me being a golf degenerate I may push for replay rates on an extra day or two if I’m not dying on the course. Last time we were out there it was only low 90s and there was no one on the courses in the afternoon. 2 extra hours in the heat shouldn’t be too bad.
Played it Sunday afternoon and it was brutal until the storm started brewing around 14. First time out and really enjoyed the course. No kidding about the water, though. Couldn’t believe how soft it was playing in that heat and sun.
My fellow CO Refuge friends,
We still have a few spots open for the Denver event on the 28th. I would love to have more CO peeps in attendance, so grab a friend (or your significant other) and sign up! Feel free to share this link with your friends, too. It’s open to the public now.
@PJM@WillBren44 and I all got our matches in at City Park last Friday. Great evening 9 and it was awesome to have Will sherpa us around that place ahead of Denver City Am this weekend. Love a good internal OB and City Park has its fair share
Apparently I overly optimistic about improving this year and opted into the championship flight when I signed up, two of the guys I’m playing with are plus handicaps, they’re in for a treat.
@Privatecollection - might not hurt to reach out to the Common Ground men’s club, they could probably fill some of those last spots pretty quick.
