I watched the virtual race they did. Not a big NASCAR fan but this could be a good time.
Big thank you to @TheChains for the round today out at Medinah #1. Such a fun course to play. Doak did a great job with the reno work and made some very interesting and fun greens to putt/chip around. If any of you ever get out there, make sure you always miss right and stay out of those traps!
Always a great time with @wseitz26 and @McDuffin rounding out the foursome as well.
Does anyone know of any courses that are fairly beginner friendly (read: easy) and allow 9 hole rounds before 2pm on the weekends?
Tam Oshanter in Niles. It’s a 9 hole that is only par 3&4.
Can confirm. Great course, great company, friendly staff, and a chance to see what Doak could do with a Parkland site. May thanks to @TheChains.
Glenview Prairie is another short and beginner-friendly exec par 3 type course.
Absolutely perfect, thanks
I just played Columbus park on Sunday. It’s extremely easy at times; like playing golf on a group of football fields. Or like playing at a driving range. Hit whatever shots you want. Billy Caldwell also simple but more interesting.
Where are you located? Never mind - I saw it (Logan Square)… listen to the city folk.
Mega-endorse Metropolitan. Bingo on Wednesdays is very fun. I’ll be there tonight.
Same feeling on the NASCAR race in Chicago. I think I might see if the in-laws want to go just to create a cover story and go watch. It seems like such a terrible idea, and it makes it so interesting IMO.
Really not sure how to feel about this. I think a Moto race could be much more exciting
Gotta keep your head on a swivel at Caldwell too, balls flying all over that place. Had a mini-icarito last time I played there too, -1 after 7 and finished bogey, bogey.
By any chance has anyone played Arlington Lakes Golf Club? Playing there Sunday with my BIL.
Rank hypocrisy. Is driving fast ok or not?!
If they put speed cameras on JBPDLSD or any highway around the city, they could fund themselves for years to come
This is only going to reinforce for the left turn lane cutters on LSD that rubbin is racin.
Yeah, its nothing special but usually in decent shape. Lots of water on the course but par 68 so the pace of play has been surprisingly decent the couple times I have played on the weekend.
But what good would that do for pedestrian safety when they already have them on Irving east of Clark between the graveyards and on Lawrence by 94 where there hardly is a sidewalk already protecting us.
This also assumes the 3rd party doesn’t get 98% of revenue in the agreement.
