Roll Call “Chicago” (Part 2)

Seems like a perfect plot of land for a 12-13 hole course. The 18 seems way too packed in, but the 9 from Lohmann isn’t utilizing the space either.

Meanwhile @TCRBrad is over here giving us a Fort Sheridan TED Talk. Good stuff. I’ve only been up there once several years back, looking to get restless kids outside on a nice fall day. It’s a beautiful spot if you’ve never been up there. Highly recommend.

War at the Sh(ore)eridan Point. We just plant a bunch of random flags from the routings Brad posted and go fire away.

Will there be snow and ice though?

Trying to make out the 8th hole in this routing. Is it a mini putt hole?

That one is a “choose your own adventure” hole

The bunkering around the shared 1 and 12 green is perfect RTJJ2.

Gave a routing a shot. It’s a TIGHT piece of property.

What I’d LOVE is a Sweetens-esque 9 hole with multiple pins and tees, with an 18 hole pitch-and-putt.
Would need to do a little tree management and open up those vistas of the lake, and the pitch and putt would flank all the old historic Army buildings that are still on property. Call it “The Barracks” or something clever like that…

It’s one of the two holes he routed over one of the ravines.

Which would be the best use of the land, and your “Instagram Par 3” aside from 18 along the bluffs

I’m sad the other two architects didn’t use any of the ravines as a forced carry or parallel hazard.
Like…just look at this photo and tell me you wouldn’t love to hit a shot from bluff to bluff over the ravines:

It’s the cypress of the midwest.

It’s tight, but if you just take into account the space I’ve outlined, it’s still 3 acres larger than Sweetens. Even with keeping the north boundary of trees/creek as a buffer to the cemetery, this chunk still has 3 more acres than Sweetens.

I plan on going down a bunch over the next few weeks during the day but figured we could look for an evening too if thats easier for most.

Edit:
Wednesday evening looks pretty open
