It’s a fair course and one hole in particular is divisive, but you have to experience it to form your own opinion.
Nothing too unfair off the tee, greens are pure, and the elevation change is used well.
Otherwise, make sure your putts have good weight and you bring your aides

Tale of two nines. Front is flatter and probably a bit easier, although 6-8 is a challenging stretch. 6 is a tough driving hole. 8 can be a tricky par 3 depending on wind.
Back 9 is where the elevation really varies. The par 5s 11 and 15 are the stars. 17 another tricky semi-blind par 3. 14 and 18 bombs away.

Hello all, my name is Tom and I just joined the group. I found the discord link but got an error saying it expired, not sure if that is the best place to join in on the conversation or if the refuge here is but just trying to expand my golfing world and get to know more NLU fans. Live out in the NW burbs but play all over. I’m a member at Stonehenge in Barrington IL (just a golf course, doesn’t even sell booze) so not sure if there are any others in the group that are members but I’m always looking for other folks who have a very flexible job and can sneak out for some daytime golf.

Hello friends - I am sure everyone is excited to have the US Women’s Open headed to the Midwest with their upcoming stop at Erin Hills. I have a foursome at Erin on June 7th at 6:59 am (the Saturday following the event) and I am looking to fill two spots.
We are just up for the day so this is just a golfing expedition. we’re hoping the course will still be in fire condition post event.
Send me a note if you’re interested. I’ll make sure to update this post if/when the spots are filled.

As an FYI, that’s the same day as The Summit at Mount Prospect, which is the 2CGC major. Most of us will already have commitments that day.

Ah thanks for the heads up there - been out of the Refuge game due to some personal stuff. Wanted to attempt to fill the spots instead of changing the res to a twosome.

Gents, long time listener, first time poster… which means I have no idea if I’m even posting this in the right place. I’m moving from the Plex to Chicago (Wicker Park area) next week, which means I will no longer be a C-Suite country club golfer for the time being. I’m hoping to get involved in the local Roost and start being a lot more active in some of the Roost and NLU events. It’ll probably be a few weeks before the dust settles and I can get out the sticks, but I’d love to know where to play and get to meet some of you NLU lovin’ Chicagoans. Let me know if I’m doing this right!
