If you’ll allow an out of town interloper for a moment, while I’m based in DC I organize a charity outing in the Chicago area every year and would love to see some fellow Refugees out there. The 4th Annual Sisu Open will be at Lost Marsh on Friday, May 16th. 9am shotgun start. I know Lost Marsh isn’t exactly a local favorite, but my guy had a love to hate/hate to love it relationship that makes it a perfect host site for an outing in his honor.

If anyone needs any course reviews or other info, let me know! We ran almost this exact itinerary back from last year for our three-day quota game. PrairieView is the ideal Sunday morning capstone outside of the city as we pack up and leave for home. Aldeen is a well-manicured gem and Ledges is tremendously underrated.

I’m personally not a fan of Aldeen but perhaps need to give it another run. As @BadBrad alluded, don’t sleep on Silver Ridge, just down the road from PV.
Thoughts on the centerline tree on 11?
I need to get back out to Atwood, enjoyed it.

I have not made it out to Silver Ridge before, or Swanhills. Those are the courses still left on my checklist for the Rockford area.
The fairway tree on 11 slaps. One of my favorite WTF (in a good way) moments I’ve had steeping up to a tee box.

they’re still looking for teams at sunset valley for a thursday twilight league. i couldn’t make each week so would need four golfers for two weekly spots. if anyone is interested and can play 1/2-2/3’s of the thursday throughout summer let me know!

Anyone played this track since its renovation? Owners cite PrairieView and Aldeen as the standard they are shooting for in terms of cost and quality.
As someone who was born in Rockford but moved away as a kid, it seems like there is a very healthy ecosystem of golf in northern Illinois. Rising tide situation.

had it on the list to hit on the way back from The Ope but didn’t get to it. Place looks great and has a good history. Hope to get up there one day, maybe even this year

Anyone here care to give me their review of PrairieView?
Haven’t been out there yet but playing in a qualifier and hoping to get an idea of what I’m in for prior to playing a practice round or two.
