I’ll give you 9 is pretty narrow, but I think there’s a distinction between difficult and unplayable. There are a handful of or 4.25 or par 4.5s out there but IMO only 9 is really scary/penal off the tee. 5 and 12 could be played very comfortably as par 5s. 15 is quirky bc it’s basically 2 par 3s on the same hole, but it’s way more visually intimidating off the tee than in reality once you get down there
I think that’s pretty different from bridges or the ranch which was auto-re-tee if you miss the fairway by 10 yards on any hole + elevation change + wind
Yeah I just feel like the placement of 9 is dumb. Penal landing area (that usually rolls out into the rough even on a perfect tee ball) then a shot uphill to a boring ass green off a downhill lie. Could have been a fun driveable par 4 if they but the green in right behind the creek.
Again, not unplayable and not even really unfair but the course just sorta sucks for your average weekend golfer. Some of my longest rounds ever were at Eagle Ridge. Thank god they removed a number of bunkers after opening as I think my first round out there was well over 5hrs.
I didn’t (and wouldn’t) compare it to the level of Bridges or the Ranch but it’s just not a fun golf course. Johnny Miller just doesn’t really make fun courses.
I’m coming to the Bay Area from March 20-25th. If anyone is interested playing let me know. I’m apart of the NYC chapter. I have a pasatiempo tee time and planning on playing presidio. Anyone wants to get game let me know
Hello friends, who took the cake out at Corica today ?! I really wanted to play but I had a prior engagement (shooting ~1,000 at Presidio). Hope everyone enjoyed our East Bay gem, looking forward to the next event out there
A pleasure to e-meet you guis! @fullbodyfix has been bugging me to join the group for some time. Glad I attended the weekend event, had a great time.
Cheers
AJ
Some crushing rumors going around the peninsula this week. Bayonet and Blackhorse will finally be building the hotel where the range previously was. They will also be building out condos on portions of the golf course. All of this is related to them coming under the TPC umbrella
